It's the most beautiful thing, the world I am seeing. I want you to see it too...

Summary

Alice is a very odd individual, often lost in his own thoughts. He sees the world in a very different way, and wants to share this view... And his psychic powers might make it possible, perhaps?

Docile with those he trusts, and only not an active danger to society because he lacks common sense.

Appearance

Alice has long silky black hair, black eyes and a fair skin. While completely jet black, his hair and eyes sometimes shine with an oily opalescence. He has a narrow & long face, a profiled long nose, thin eyebrows and droopy eyes. His default expression shows a twisted "smile", and he has permanent eyebags.

The lighter version of his hair is transluscent instead of on the golden side- Because of this and a naturally thin body hair, it doesn't show much on his body.

He's just above average weight and his body fat accumulates in his torso and thighs.

He dresses very colorful, often with a t-shirt and a jacket, either or both with novelty prints or tie dye or both. He also likes 80s aesthetic and fashion.

Personality

7141477_p54TVB99C0Vma9Z.pngA serial daydreamer, Alice is as creative as he's nonsensical in almost everything he does. Despite being a telepath, he lacks basic empathy most of the time. Extremely curious about 'what happens if...' that can be taken to gruesome ends. A bit of a megalomaniac, loving how it feels to manipulate others- but not actually a fan of making people feel pain? It's just that he doesn't connect both things immediately.

Very neutral, can do horrible evil things one second and then be very docile the other. Doesn't care for morals at all, and is only learning to be better recently. This moral code is very flimsy to him however.

Genuinely lacks common sense, he's a slow thinker in general. As a psychic, this is his true setback and the reason why he doesn't meet his full potential. His logic is very particular, as particular as the world he sees. He can seem whimsical and he is, but in his own terms he's very logical; as in, he follows more the 'head' than the 'heart' but that's by his own definitions.

He has the most trouble connecting with others, not even guessing that they feel the same pain as him-- Granted, he's confused about his own emotions most of the time, not being able to identify them-- Still, he's strangely extroverted and enjoys talking to others, especially about the things he likes. Horribly socially maladjusted though, hardly ever tries fitting in (but can, it's just painful). Used to be a loner, now has friends and family (!) so he's discovered he can maintain positive relationships! He does treat strangers with a certain hostility at first, if he can't read their minds.

The way he's hostile with strangers is usually being mischievous, giving tips or ideas with a certainty that they're true. But they're things that are NOT true or would dangerously wound anyone who would try it. This used to be his disposition towards everyone, because everyone felt like a stranger to him.

REALLY overuses his powers, he's only NOT reading people's minds when he's in a crowd. Otherwise he'll try if he can (even if he gets migraines), and this is actually how he survives human interaction, and how he manages to understand what others are saying. In a way, he wouldn't even like himself without his powers.

He can be very sweet to those he trusts, he's loyal and, while his solutions are more often than not outlandish, he really wants to help whenever he can. He always has this pent-up violence that sometimes he doesn't even control, and he wouldn't hesitate in using it to protect his friends, or himself.

He believes in a lot of magical things! He's way too gullible, and if his powers didn't get in the way, he would be easily manipulable. Because of this, he loathes liars and discovering someone has lied to him will make him the angriest he can get.

Story

big cw for animal cruelty and cruelty in general tbh

Alice is the youngest child of a rather odd but seemingly happy family. 'Seemingly' because, well, it obviously has its problems but their core issue is that they're very oblivious to them. For Alice specifically this meant that his family, as accepting as it is-- never questioned why he did certain things.

For example, he liked to play with animals, but he bothered them so much that they bit him several times. This made him upset, and he didn't know what else to do than to hurt the animals back. Sure, he was reprimanded when his parents spotted him doing it, but they didn't ask him why he did it. So he kept doing it, interested in how the creatures reacted when he messed with them.

As he was growing up, there was always this distance from the others. Children of his age rejected him, he ended up isolated and nothing really improved about his own interests. He was the kind that found fascinating to burn ants with a magnifying glass, but also was so creative and saw the world so differently that no one else understood him.

Lacking the ability to communicate with others, he focused on building his own world, realizing that he could make it as perfect as he wanted. Inspired by the idea of fantasy and magic, he included all sorts of things that fascinate him, slowly becoming more and more warped with his endless creativity, breaking the sense of a limit. He became weirder, falling in love with his 'world', one that he wanted to share with others, but even drawing it seemed like a horror story.

In high school, he was constantly under heavy bullying by his peers. It turned worse, and he never developed a way to properly shield himself for it, given that he was unable to fit in. It was around this time that his parents got him a pet snake, he named it Snegg and she became one of the first and best friends he made. Given, having a pet snake made him get an even weirder image, but at that point, he didn't care. At least Snegg was the first animal he didn't want to hurt in any way.

While his family was still accepting of him, the society he knew rejected him so harshly that he started feeling lots of resentment. He didn't know how to 'fight back', exactly, but he kept thinking that it would be interesting to do to them what he did to animals who hurt him.

It was part sadism, part frustration; he did genuinely want to connect to somebody, anybody! But he got to a point where he was so incomprehensible that the first way he interacted with others was slightly hostile- he suggested ideas that were plain absurd or objectively dangerous. Of course, no one really listened to him.

Until they had no option.

At some point, in his late teenage years, he could suddenly know what others were thinking. Not only that, but he could speak into their minds without them having any idea. Any message he sent, they would listen to it as their own thoughts. Alice started playing with them, entertaining his idea of manipulating his classmates, those who were so cruel to him.

His grades rose because he could cheat by reading the teacher's mind and asking for questions, he became more eloquent because he could ask people's minds what they wanted to hear first, and he was delighted that some started having conversations of thoughts he put in their minds first! He didn't become popular though, they still disliked him, but it was okay. This was fun.

Months passed and he felt like he had control over the whole classroom, almost predicting what they were going to talk about. He kept his powers a secret, mostly because he didn't want the fun to be spoiled.

At some point, one of his classmates got really hooked up on the idea of flying. Alice could remember vaguely that he insinuated by his thoughts that a certain wind current from a certain height would pick a human's body up and let them fly for a period of time. Alice always loved the idea of flying with magic, so at that point it seemed like this person was only sharing his interests.

Unfortunately, he didn't get to talk much to them. Before he knew, his classmate jumped off a building under construction.

And they didn't fly.

Alice knew that he had to do with it. His classmate survived, but is still under a coma. Alice really doesn't know how he feels about that, but he felt like he had to get out of there, somehow.

Soon enough he graduated high school, and was about to decide his college path when he was offered a free opportunity at some sort of special study at the UK. They promised they were going to grant him a wish, and that plus the fact that they paid for everything really did it for him.

Of course, he wished that everyone could see the world as beautifully as he sees it. Surely, that way the world would be a better place.

The Wish House

Starting new in London, he managed to employ his powers in newer ways- gaslighting sellers so he would not have to pay for things- especially Snegg's food- and in the house specifically he had a good time, they would pay him for having sessions with them. He didn't even know what these were for, but he saved up a lot of money thanks to them.

Strange things happened in the house, as strange as its hosts. Alice wasn't the only misfit, he met several people who were outcasts one way or the other, and made friends with them! It was the first time in ages, and he was very happy in general. He could spend more of his time in video editing and it seemed ideal.

Except that those strange things happening soon turned into total nightmares.

Literally, the first incident involved them all experiencing deathly nightmares. Alice was always a friend of the twisted and warped, until he dreamed that he was in a dull, gray world, treated like a crazy person.

Even if he survived this, like everybody else, it left a deep emotional and mental wound. He started thinking his actions through a bit more after that, but still stayed in the house.

Among the people he met is his current girlfriend, Teru. They met under absurd circumstances (their first formal meeting was him walking into one bathroom without realizing she was taking a shower in there- inappropriate, but he genuinely thought she was a hallucination. She was not) and eventually realized that prolonged physical contact made Teru copy not only his energy but his powers. It meant that Teru could see his wonderful world! She is the first person to be able to do this.

Even if the house management wasn't the best addressing the horrible things happening (like dead crows pouring out of nowhere), Alice was pretty content, especially with the friends he was making.

That is, until the house staff welcomed a scientist for a short period of time.

Well, actually, Alice's happiness didn't end there. In fact, he didn't even meet this scientist or know that his name was Kei- and Kei, in turn, talked to most people that knew Alice.

A couple of weeks passed and suddenly Alice was brought to an unknown place, having the best night's sleep of his life without knowing that Kei made it seem like he was abducted. Kei staged a whole thing in the same place he brought Alice, without really doing any harm to him (other than giving him something to sleep- it wasn't hard). His friends came to his rescue, while Kei waited for the right moment to start talking to Alice. His friends could hear the conversation from the speakers Kei installed, while they were solving his puzzles.

Kei's idea was to provoke Alice and make him do something horrible- to eat Kei alive, and show his corpse and the crime scene to his friends, because Alice has been the source of all of Kei's suffering in another universe. There's something about Alice's cruelty that trascended universes and realities even before he was named Alice- and he truly had no idea, he was being judged by something he didn't do.

But Alice knew he was capable of doing such things, if he were some sort of god. And he didn't feel sorry for it at first, until he hear Kei's thoughts.

Kei wasn't just confronting Alice's past identity as a god in a different reality. He was confronting his maker, the one he thought of as his mom for the longest time.

Surprised by this, Alice wasn't provoked into violence but into understanding. He could read Kei's mind and while he didn't understand his feelings, he didn't do anything to him.

His friends made it to the room where they were and immediately tried to hurt Kei for abducting Alice, but Alice stopped them. Kei had done this only to die at that moment, but Alice kept that from happening. Instead, they had a tender moment with everyone involved kind of forgiving Kei as well. It was an act of hurting that became friendship.

They had to quickly flee thought because someone called the police and what Kei did was technically a crime and they were all already kind of weird with the law so it made sense- and they made it back to the house.

Kei had to leave, though, since he wasn't welcome anymore because of what he did. This was sad, but they could still hang out sometimes. Alice felt like the way the house staff treated them was more and more unfair, despite being paid so much... He started feeling resentful, and eventually left.

Current Story

Alice started renting an apartment with his savings, moved in with Teru and later (after a lengthy quest) welcomed the Dog as their- well, their dog, but he's a dog in a human body (long story). They both sustained themselves with their savings, Teru's drug money income, and bitcoin mining- as well as their cheeky stealing from stores with his powers.

He also brought Teru with him for the holidays to meet his family in Venezuela, which was great! They weren't formally partners at that point, but that's just because Alice is stupid.

So Alice finally took an interest in studying film- and made it into a school! And that's where we are now, as well as with a bunch of whimsical and quirky antics that he gets into almost daily with or without his friends.

He's also getting along with his classmates much better than in school! They're kind of odd in their own ways, and they see him as an equal- quirky, but still talented.

Future

Loosely planned, Alice will become an indie film director, as well as have a child with Teru; Ranarauna AKA Tebeo. He'll come to terms with his neurodivergence as well as some awful things he has done (who would've thought that using telepathy on an unborn child would effectively hinder their ability to interact with others as they grow up!) and also with his own feelings of Gender. He grows his hair as long as possible, and dyes a hidden layer in purple.

He's also very offended that his child didn't inherit any sort of special powers! But his child doesn't really mind, having grown up in a family that constantly read their mind all the time.

Abilities

To explain Alice's powers, you have to learn a little bit of the lore. No one's really aware of this; information is hard to come by, but not entirely impossible:

Coordinator fairies; these species are almost extinct in their pure form. Their nature is to coordinate themselves with nature, be it animals or plants. They possessed great powers, they could shapeshift, protect, defend, understand, calm, among others. Most living beings had a great mutual relationship with these fairies. However, they were also very compatible at reproducing with any other species, which lead to their eventual extinction: a generation of these fairies believed it wasn't cool to keep the bloodline pure, and started to live with other species, humans being a particular favorite. As time passed, most offspring was some mix of coordinator fairy, to a point where generations in the future were almost clean of the fairy blood.

In such a small amount, offspring weren't able to use most fairy abilities; they were boiled down to less and less varieties of powers. Still able to connect with nature but not exceptionally so.

After many, many generations, the fairy blood was forgotten and Alice's family is entirely unaware of it. None of his relatives show any fairy features or nature. The reason Alice developed his powers with such a small amount of fairy genetics in him is because he intensely wished for them. He was as unaware as his family, but as he grew he fantasized with so many magical things, he wished he could be one of them one day.

And so he was. It was like a granted wish! He could've been anything other than a telepath, but it was connecting with others what he wanted the most, and it was the best way he could've been helped. In a way, because coordinator fairies helped every living being, his powers helped himself.

Now, he doesn't exactly use them with the best of intentions, not every coordinator fairy was going to be good willed either, but Alice's just fascinated with manipulating others, and so his powers are mostly developed to implement ideas on people and to gaslight them. He tends to have plenty of outlandish ideas and his childhood of bullying makes him dump his resentment on his powers, especially on strangers.

But in general, he can read minds (the thoughts they're having in present time, he can't search into the mind of someone), communicate with them, project his senses on them, use telekinesis (can hold up to 4 kgs of something, can't hold liquids (he can hold something with liquid inside though). the strength he can apply is higher than what he can hold (probably has to do with his own physical strength)) and lately, use a person's own thoughts and senses to calm them (sometimes he can use his own; this is probably the only way he can search within somebody). He can enter other people's dreams and manipulate what they see, but if he isn't asleep he sees and senses everything in slow motion. Save for telekinesis, this all works in people who are willing and compatible with him. He can't use his powers on people with magical tendencies or people who are very closed off mentally, and is considerably clumsier socially around them because he relies a lot on his powers. He can't tell what others are feeling, he only hears thoughts and not emotions, but this has to do with his own inability to tell what he and others feel, and so he can't really tell what people think by their tone.

He's able to tune out the thoughts of everyone around him, so he doesn't get overwhelmed (his powers are mostly turned off in crowds). He might share some of his own thoughts without meaning to at times, and they will seem like a random thought on anyone who's not aware of his powers. This is more of an issue because Alice's thoughts are very weird.

If he uses his powers too intensely, his mind can get worn out. He'll have a headache and dizziness. Also, whenever he's using his powers particularly intensely (astral projecting does that, as does calming others) his eyes will shine particularly opalescent.

He can be very physically strong, kind of related to the held back violence he has. He can use a lot of physical and psychic strength when angry and can cause a lot of destruction. He's pretty impressive despite his speed and that he doesn't exercise.

Extra

  • *Beautifully bilingual. Doesn't have a spanish-speaker accent because he doesn't speak Spanish like the rest. They made fun of him because of this too. F
  • **He's certainly mortal but also holds the smallest fragment of the soul of a God in him. It's so little it has no impact on his physical form at all, but it makes that percentage of his soul a little bit immortal.
  • His voice is slow and drowsy-sounding. Claims people wouldn't understand him otherwise, because he taught himself to talk like that- he used to speak very fast! And he still does, when he's drunk.
  • God it's been so long... Of course he's autistic just look at all this. Can you believe I didn't think he was before? In 2016? He's undiagnosed as he is with EVERY other mental shit he has going on. It's a lot but most relevant: alexithimia, ADD, and a mix of maladaptive daydreaming and straight up psychosis (+ pronoia). He also has faceblindness and a general distorted perception of reality, as well as bad memory issues.
  • Has a very pretty singing voice! He's also not bad at drawing, and has like a couple of OCs
  • Remembers smells and textures and colors (in that priority) before names and shapes.
  • My... Favorite oc? As of right now? How did this happen??
  • Feels very identified by snakes! Snegg is still around, a bit old, back in their apartment. He still loves her so much.
  • If he could choose he would be a genderless abstract monster, and that actually gives him a bit of dysphoria in his everyday life. He doesn't like gender labels in general, but doesn't know what's up with that exactly.
  • Has a YouTube channel where he posts his videos! He has a decent following, actually. His videos are surreal, very grotesque, colorful, sexual and horrifying at times.
  • His facial hair doesn't grow much, and if it does it's mostly an awkward mustache. He shaves it when it's visible.
  • Isn't actually... Smiling? Or rather, his twisted smile is genuine, but he doesn't know he is making it most of the time. He can't actually force a smile in pictures, and what he thinks is a smile doesn't... Look much like it.
