Does anyone else do this?

Idk just been feeling upset and left out lately because everyone else has their own favourite TV show to watch and gush about to everyone else and it's like... I can't find anything good to watch because either it's waaaay too childish to the point where it's brainrot or too mature or edgy for me to handle and I feel like a loser for just doing this, so I'm wondering...

Does anyone else make up shows and watch them in their head, or is that just me?

I don't know about shows specifically, but I think most people here can say with certainty that there's something going on story-wise with their characters, myself included! It's nice to daydream a bit and just let their stories play out.

For me, sometimes for sure. It's moreso just a symptom of my brain needing to daydream, though. For an example that's not OC, I have this sort of alternative universe in my head of my favorite band being in a sitcom, like what the Monkees had. It's fun to think of jokes or even full episodes when I'm in the shower or falling asleep or something. I like to think those gags could come into great use one day in a future script lol.

Also v I agree with both of these posts!! It’s really hard for me to get into shows cause it requires more time and energy than a movie or YouTube channel. And the stuff I do like I’m usually pretty quiet about.

I totally get u, but for me its just cause i physically cant make myself sit down to watch a movie or two show without mentally preparing myself weeks in advance. Proffessionally made shows/movies hit differently than livestreams/yt videos that i can listen to and not need to focus on too much

also ur def not the only one who makes up shows in their head! Some1 mentioned headworlds not too long ago on here and it perfectly sums up what ive been doing for the past 4 years lol. Cant get dissapointed over a bad movie/show decision or character being ruined over actors being horrible ppl when its all in my head >:)

as someone who doesn't consume media i  feel this

Ye seconding the “loud minority” opinion. Most people watch tv only casually, and don’t really discuss it online. And many people only watch random things on cable or whatever streaming service they have, like sports, reality shows, the popular series of the month, etc. Engaging in fandom can really skew your perception of how most people engage with media, so don’t worry about whatever they’re doing. I myself have found I don’t really watch tv much when I’m not living with my parents (who keep the tv on all day). It’s not the end all be all of entertainment, there are plenty of other things to do - doing your own creative things is one.
