Is this site still being updated/worked on?

Hey y'all

Just a question of curiosity, I noticed that the last announcement was made nearly a year ago and I was wondering, does anybody know if this site will still be getting updates? I feel like there's a lot of cool potential features we could see in the future. If not I totally get it, I'm just wondering what to expect. Thanks!

I had that exact question, I just wasn't sure where to put it and if it was tabboo or not.

I'm a premium member and I would really appreciate it if I could know whether my donations are actually being used for anything or not, especially if I use this site on the daily and there's still so many bugs. So many things have been promised that they're working on but nothing has ever come of it, and again, announcements have been years apart.

I second opening up staff applications. We need more coders and staff, and hell I'm sure a lot of people would be willing to volunteer as well, cutting down on costs.

I'm just getting a bit frustrated. I feel like this site is getting emptier, yet I really love it here and I would really appreciate something from the staff to fix the rapidly increasing problems. I'll post a suggestion.

Luckyee just a little random side note about being a premium member: premium pays the server costs. the mods don't make any money and it's not a contract that guarantees updates. the fact that you use the site daily is basically what you're paying for !

on the general topic of this board... pretty sure this site is dead. there is def someone still around that moves/deletes boards on the regular, but that's about it. mods have stated before that as long as they have the funds to pay the server, they'll keep the site running for the people that use it but i think that's about all we be getting at this point
so basically... this site is what it is. i think it's okay for what it is, like it performs all the functions i need and the bugs don't majorly impact anything i do. if there is never another update, i'll be fine. but if this isnt the case for someone or the idea that it may never be updated again is a deal breaker, it may be worthwhile to browse around for something else to meet your character needs

EDIT: reading back over my post, i feel like it sounded to bleak LOL
to be more clear, there IS still mods around that will answer help desk tickets on moving/deleting boards, and look at reports on posts with inappropriate comments and characters that are not properly credited/break the rules. almost every time i've reported a post or character i get an answer back within 24 hours or less (i think my longest wait time was like 2 days? )
They also will fix major bugs that effect the functioning of the site. The other day there was some bug breaking lots of images and they got it resolved very quickly; if I hadnt been on when it was happening, probs would have never known it happened
I meant more like there probably arent going to be any major site function updates/new features & this site probably won't leave beta stage

While I personally am ok with the site for what it currently is, my biggest concern is the lack of attention being paid to help tickets. Accounts taking months, or even years to be unfrozen for minor offenses is not at all acceptable. How can I trust that I'll get help if my account gets hacked, or someone is stealing my characters? Site security is a huge deal, and if the admin are not doing anything about that/not opening up applications for volunteers, then that is a big issue that needs to be considered if you're trying to decide whether or not you're going to stay.

Ah man that's a shame. Thanks guys. I like the site as it it but I was really hoping for it to come out of beta someday. Ah well

I'm worried that the admins might just give up on the site entirely, and stop paying for the servers, causing it to shut down & us to lose everything. I pay premium to help fund the servers, like others do, but the anxiety is still there that I'll try log in one morning to find the whole site gone. Especially with how terribly the site's been running the past few weeks..

Oh yikes, probably a good idea to start building up backups then. Unfortunate, this site was really unique.

Before all the doomsayers start spreading fear, the site owners had said the site will be up as long as even one person uses it. They've also commented that people buying subs are covering site costs nicely and there's no worry about the site closing (barring major, uncontrollable failure) any time soon. When there were major server issues in the past, they did their best to upgrade the servers and move everything safely. There are currently 659 users online, I remember a time when it was 250 tops.

They don't have enough programmers/time to likely pull the site out of beta or handle crazy amounts of traffic required when a site goes public, but the site will probably function as-is for the foreseeable future. *

Also the mods/admins don't go on the forums at all unless a thread is reported. You're basically asking your peers, lol. No answers here can be considered "official".

*It's probably a good idea to keep backups of all your characters anyway.

Considering that I have unanswered tickets/reports from up to a year ago regarding extremely serious things (discrimination and stuff regarding minors) that the site staff have not cared enough to even glance at, I doubt it. The site is dead, the report system has failed, and the rules look more like decorations than actual rules, considering I've never seen them enforced. Even if the site were still updated regularly, the fact that the ticketing system is so unused and ignored makes it difficult to stay on a site that allows users to discriminate others, harass people, and exploit minors. I have very little hope for the future of this site.

Anything re: offsite behavior cannot be enforced. The admin will only take action if the person in question breaks site rules, or states an intention to do so.

I don't particularly agree with that stance, but not like it's up to me.

Sorry to revive this, but I agree they should habe openings for admins,  i wish there was a way to habe the community be heard on that topic.
