For most of her adult life, Aryn has been a knight to Amn, making her way up to a high ranking. She had been one of the best knights in the newer settlement, leading the others through countless battles. From there she met who she had called her soulmate: Vanya. For every battle she won with her lover, she received a new banded tattoo along her arm. Large bands represented large battles, small bands represented small battles, and broken bands represented that somebody important was lost that battle. In her last battle within the Order, Vanya took too large of a hit and died, leaving Aryn alone. Aryn fled from the Order, vowing to never place that armor onto herself again, feeling the guilt of not being able to save her lover. Years later, she still has not fully processed her grief, suppressing the emotions from that fateful day. She wanders the Forgotten Realms, trying to find a new purpose for herself. When entering a battle, the memories of the say she lost Vanya flood her mind, sending her into a rage.
Aryn found herself in Waterdeep, where she had heard murmurings of a large dungeon under the city. She was knocked out by an unknown source, and soon woke up in the dungeon found by a small adventuring party inside of a mindflayer’s “sack.” She decided to stay, exploring each floor of the dungeon with her party of 6. Aryn experienced many memorable moments that she holds close to her, from exploring the Elemental Plane of Air and Limbo with the party’s monk to being transformed into a lizardfolk from an odd fruit. At the bottom of the dungeon, Aryn landed the final blow on the Mad Mage himself after he had refused therapy from the Druid, cutting him straight down the middle. The dungeon started falling apart at the death of Halaster, and Aryn escaped with the party’s Druid, Sorcerer, and Monk; the Ranger and Cleric remained.
After escaping the crumbling dungeon, Aryn returned to Amn to properly grieve the loss of her beloved wife Vanya with the party who had made it out. She was able to catch up with the connections she had lost before returning to Waterdeep, staying with her found family. Aryn and the Monk travelled to a volcano with the dragon egg they had stolen, hatching their new son Shep. The manor the party had received was renamed The Lizard Pit and served as both the home of Shep and a small bar. The Lizard Pit was filled with the stories of both Aryn’s knighthood and her adventures in the Dungeon of the Mad Mage, always welcoming both her old party and new adventurers for a drink.
