About
Ivan Vasiliev is your classic mad scientist character, who also happens to be Russian. Think a villain from an 80s movie, but maybe less stereotypical and without the desire to rule the world. All Ivan desires is to create the perfect being. His experiments are all kinds of wrong and unethical, being cruel and disturbed. He doesn't work for anyone but himself and has a friend to fund him, but he cons his way into hospitals and labs when he needs something a little more. There's typically no rhyme or reason for what he does, other than he feels like it.
Design
Appearance
Ivan is a very tall man with a muscular stature. He most often wears an oatmeal-colored turtleneck under his lab coat. He is almost never seen without his mask or gloves either, even when he isn't working. His eyelashes are long and thick, and his eyebags are set deep into his face. It almost looks like he's wearing eyeliner or eyeshadow sometimes. His red eyes are the most striking part, but he wasn't born with them. Some of his experiments bear the same red eyes, but not all of them. His hair is always kept long, even if it's unsafe for lab work. He will typically tie it up if he feels it's necessary.

Background
Ivan was born to a very loving family in Russia. His mother was a successful and smart woman, being the inspiration for his career. His father worked hard labor in a factory. Ivan was their only child, and a very impressive child at that. He was deemed brilliant and was on a level way beyond his peers, isolating him from children his age. He didn't display any odd behaviors as a child, despite being quiet and antisocial. He enjoyed busying himself in his studies and reading stories of mythological gods.
He was offered the opportunity to study abroad in America, where he eventually moved once he graduated to continue his studies. He met another person there who held similar beliefs to him, and experiences. They formed a quick friendship, both being considered rather odd, but brilliant, people. They were the first person to convince Ivan to step over the line and set his humanity aside for the good of furthering science. His obsession with godliness began there and how to tear it all apart.
Relationships
Not his first experiment containing animals, but the first he kept. Berry was a pet snake he had, and he had recently become interested in deep sea gigantism. He was curious if he could take Berry and combine her with several other animals to create a huge creature. She's about the size of a school bus and acts as his personal guard dog, still showing love and loyalty toward Ivan.
Two unstable creatues, but are harmonous when with each other. One cannot feel sadness and the other cannot feel happiness. These two are one of the most violent toward Ivan, especially on their own. He was curious about the concept of ying and yang at the time of their creation.
A failed version of the entity Nine, now being considered her older brother. They both are almost predessesors to the creature Cry, since he was experienting with the concept of lovecraftian creatures at the time. Smiley is unstable and emotional and will explode into teeth if it becomes too much. He's not the biggest fan of Ivan.
