Ivan Vasiliev (Warlock of Orcus, Dr. Vasiliev)

Ivan is rude, abrasive, and very cold. He likes to make fun of people, striking at what he observes to be their insecurities, especially when he doesn't like said person. He's cruel and sometimes takes pleasure in taking down his enemies, especially when there's a struggle. Still, he gets flustered easily and isn't great socially, especially when someone is being nice to him. He isn't sure what to do in that scenario...

Ivan's origins are a mystery to most, but he wasn't born in Baldur's Gate. Many of his years as a child were spent around Dragonborn, causing him to learn it as his first language. His parents were very supportive and well-off, and they only moved to Baldur's Gate when encouraged to, due to his talents and intelligence.

Once he moved to Baldur's Gate, Ivan met another gifted child, like him, named Cyrus. They became fast friends that worked together to pursue their interests over the years and slowly became more and more closed off from society. Both of them became obsessed with the idea of creating the ultimate being and had two very different ways of pursuing that goal. Ivan, while still young, started to experiment on living things when being ethical no longer benefitted him. He started small with animals like mice, rats, and rabbits, but it only grew further to the point of kidnapping people and using them for his experiments. Most experiments in his early years were just to understand the anatomy of things and how each organ functioned, or how races like Elves have Darkvision.

For several years, people mysteriously disappeared without a body ever appearing. Some people would return home with changes, advancments, or a sense something was missing, but they all had a splitting headache and no memory of the night before...

Ivan experimented on himself as well, after using people, to advance his body in a few ways, even with the side-effects. His pact with Orcus was made mostly out of curiousity, but also frustration as he wasn't gaining the results he wanted in his work. His status as a sorcerer is also recent, as well as forced. He works with some of the best, and the worst, to gain funding for his research, as well as gaining money from his old friend, Cyrus, who now goes by the Creator. It's an open secret now that Ivan will take on just about any task given to him, and return with a successful product. Over the years, he experimented to grow and makes creatures, or has a few hidden in his lab, which he studies as payment for giving them a place to stay. He takes care of them well and often lets them out, since they do his dirty work for him. His research turned to Mindflayers, ironically, before he was kidnapped and infected, starting his journey...
