I might be going in a cryptid horror-ish way for them... Like, they have a pet/sentient bug pal as a strand of hair, of course I want the gritty & disturbing vibe. But I'm really digging the idea of them being some kind of all powerful entity. Gents and folks, I present to you the God of The Lost. Kind of a symbolic deity, like the greek gods. By extension, he's the god of maps and rituals for him are believed to bring good luck to travelers.
