Marcail's Links
A tower of a woman- Marcail can feel the tenderness and brutality of the sea in her. The very fact that she was able to stumble upon their island was already a mark of her unique skills as a mariner. Despite their general respect of Iona, they can’t help but feel a discomforting weight following her... a familiar one.
Iona has a sense of sympathy for Marcail’s troubles with Fairweather— their tale of deception only fueling her distaste for the woman. She finds their sense of duty charming, if not a bit naive, and she finds herself glad to acquaint herself with a resident of the isles. They’re somewhat odd, but not terrible company all things said.
Mimsy is one of the few people outside of the Misted Isles to have heard tales of the terrifying ghost lurking under the sea, devouring the souls of mermaids, leaving their husks for others to find. Of course, Mimsy is a VERY big fan, and is thrilled that Ballygally would find a love with such a unique tale to tell!
Fairweather was devoted to Marcail for many years, but Fairweather's own facades began to fade and give way to selfish urges of hate and distance. In the end, Fairweather consumed Marcail's soul, a trinket that she still keeps preciously close to her at all times. Her memories of Marcail are fraught with feelings of regret and an intense lost love.
Ballygally's first and only love, their affection for each other grew at an even, quiet keel during their adventures together, where they told each other many tales and secrets from such different lives. He would like to share the rest of his days with Marcail, and enjoys learning from their wisdom.
