[ ORIGIN ]

This incarnation of the Batter was created by Vader Eloha specifically to act as a companion for Sairen, the heroic Puppeteer. He is heavily based upon Eloha's husband, replicated as if to reanimate him and better who he used to be gradually.

Presented to his Puppeteer the moment she stepped foot into the world, he was skeptical of her capability at first, and as a result acted standoffish and often didn't respond to her outside of battle. He was obligated to guard and work with her in a fight, though he'd yet to think of her as anything but a work partner.

Sairen wanted a deeper connection, pushing for it by interacting with and spending time with Batter outside of the tasks they were assigned. It was due to Sairen's persistence that he opened up, became more obvious about who he was and how he thought. Although created as little more than a play piece for the Puppeteer, Batter developed his own personality, ideals, and other such humane traits. He has also seen her grown as a puppeteer and is secretly proud to see her improve.

Even so, he refuses to abandon his duty. If anything, his resolve was solidified by his Puppeteer's companionship. They are now far more playful with each other and their strong bond makes them a force to be reckoned with.

---THE GLITCH---

It was all out of nowhere. Batter did not understand how he ended up where he did, and not only that, but he had more or less lost his whole self, the true Batter being drowned out by the impure, 'Bad' version of himself, a horned beast seeking blood despite its acclaims of wanting nothing more than to purify. He was confined to Zone 3, where he prowled, preying upon unfortunate Elsens and lesser spectres. This was his mindless, purposeless life until Sairen and the others discovered him there.

In an emotional, tough fight, Batter was purified, not being killed but instead brought back to his senses, deleting the 'Bad' version of himself respectively. It is then that Batter is reunite with his boyfriend, or rather the distorted version of him that the glitch created, 'Zzz', and is made content with the presence of both his partner and his lover. Straight after the reunion, however, Maurice appears to inform everyone that the glitch was his unintended doing. He confesses to them that the glitch is his fault, as he implemented his characters Verdell and Sherelle into a copy-pasted version of Sairen's game, thus rendering all copies (Sairen's and Maurice's being the only two) affected by the pair's vengeance.

Maurice had been trapped, and sought to make amends with Sairen. Forgetting whatever feud they'd had in the past, Sairen makes up with Maurice (in spite of Batter's silent disapproval), and Maurice requests to be struck down in hopes of leaving the game to return to his real-world body and hopefully fix both copies. Though reluctantly, they do so, but nothing changes. Feeling how close they are to fixing things, the group travels onward to Zone 4, proceeding through until reaching the area at which Eloha would usually be present. Instead, there is nothing.

They were left to poke around for a period of time, and then, out of thin air, Verdell and Sherelle made their appearance in place of Eloha. Batter's companions attempt to start a conversation, but to no avail. The only response Verdell and Sherelle dignify them with is an attack. Thus the battle commenced, and onward it raged, for what seemed like forever until Verdell and Sherelle were successfully subdued in purified. Although it wasn't their intention, the pair of characters thanks Batter and his companions for winning, and subsequently fade from existence. Batter felt a surge of empathy whilst witnessing this, and is still confused over it since.

In a stereotypical but grand flash of light, the game returns to normal, and all is the same as if the glitch never happened, except everyone involved was unfortunately left with all memories from the event. With the traumatic experience having passed, though, most everything was business as usual and everyone proceeded with their lives.
