🐝Grumble🐝

A bumblebee-gator hybrid with a soft and timid nature. Grumble’s name was gifted to him by Scout, as he only communicated with grunts and grumbles. His species is known to be very dangerous and reclusive, but Grumble is the friendly runt of his hive. All he ever wanted was a buddy. When he sees a human sneaking around his home, he enthusiastically wants to befriend her! And of course, the dandelion-like color of her hair is appealing to Grumble on a primal level.

Despite Scout’s training and insistence on bringing out Grumble’s monstrous nature, he isn’t very good at being intimidating, at least not to Scout’s liking. His huge size and mouth full of teeth does make him scary to people upon first glance, but if Grumble is going to scare the pants off of a stubborn 13-year-old, he has a lot of work to do.

Grumble’s diet is made up entirely of fruits, vegetables, and sugar. Scout will save her undesired veggies from dinner for her secret treehouse-dwelling friend, but Grumble’s appetite is usually satiated by Scout’s stashes of junk food. Grumble is toothache-inducingly cute, and very puppylike. He seems unaware of his size and how dangerous he could be (think Toothless the dragon).

Like a big golden retriever, Grumble is always in the mood to cuddle and play games. Scout isn’t snuggly or playful by nature, but over time, Grumble wins over her affection. What begins as a revenge-driven bond soon becomes a genuine love, Scout even forgets why she wanted to change her friend into something mean in the first place. These two are inseparable!
