Profile

Nightshade (Real name Alissa Lano) Is a demigod who spends her days watching her little clients run around in different dimensions trying to survive.

Nightshade lives in the moment most of the time. Being a Demigod means she finds herself bored out of her mind with most encounters, and will often times intentionally taunt the other party to make them fight harder. Another way she combats her boredom is by making deals with any creature wishing to travel beyond, giving them the ability to travel between dimensions so long as they give her something worthwhile to watch. Overall, entertainment is her highest priority, no matter who has to suffer.

Origin: Before she became a demigod, she was born to a society that really didn't love her: She was born a vessel to godlike power, and that's all her society cared about with her. When of course time came for her to ascend, she did the unthinkable: She made a deal with the deity. She gained unlimited power and her own domain, in exchange for her whole dimension (which was destroyed a little after the deal was made). She realized however how boring it was to be a demigod, and soon researched a way to keep her entertained. What she found was souls bored like her, tired of the same old, same old in their dimension and craved for more...And she had the very keys to giving them what they wanted. So, she began to make contracts with those mortals, giving them the power to travel beyond their realm of reality and into brand new dimensions, and all she needed from them was entertainment.

Abilities:

  • Summoning: Nightshade can summon her cane at will, and can de-summon it as well.
  • Shape-shifting Hand:  one of her hands is tainted by shadows, allowing them to shape shift into anything she pleases.
  • Night Form: There's a reason she's called Nightshade. In this form, she loses her ability to speak and think clearly, but gains insane speed.
  • Contracts: The main power she has in her arsenal, she can make deals with anyone who either wishes to explore beyond or calls for her by name.
    • First Contract: The initial contract made to those wanting to travel. She gives the client a journal with the spell to travel between dimensions, and a scarf, if they lack one (if you already have a scarf, she'll enchant it for you). The scarf serves more as a calling card, and is magically enchanted to be indestructible and soft enough to rest your head on to sleep. In Exchange, she demands only entertainment, meaning she expects you to write down things in your journal. Oh, and the extra catch? the Client doesn't know what their home dimension number is. Nightshade doesn't tell you this unless you ask, but most are too eager for adventure to ask.
    • Second Contract: The second contract, exclusive to those who have already made the first deal with her. She will return you to your home dimension (taking back the journal and scarf, if she loaned one to you)...but once you die, your entire being belongs to her. She will forcefully pull your soul and body into her domain, bind the soul to the journal you never completed and your body is free for her to possess.
      • This is one of two common fates of her clients, the other being they die trying to get home.
Basics:

Very Old (appears 30) | 5'7" | Heavy | ???

Other:

  • She's usually a jerk to her clients, but occasionally she will help them if they are in a dire situation.
  • Can Leave her domain whenever she wants, but often only does it to respond to wishes and calls.
  • The souls she collects often re-live the events they've written down in their journal.
  • The body she has now is the one she has had since her deal, and by default she appears looking like that. However, she can possess one of the other bodies if she believes it'd better fit the occasion.
  • While she tries not to play favorites with clients, she has a soft spot for The Lore Hunter. Perhaps it's due to him finding love and considering settling down and starting a family that brings hope to Nightshade, or perhaps it's his terrible luck that amuses her.
