Dorian was an active participant in the movement of technological advancement. Fascinated with machines since childhood and only took creative liberties pursuing them the older he was. At this point he was one of very few successful minds to set forth a proper future in his world... alongside his partner that dreamed the very same.
Until his life ended in amber flames. Even if he survived the explosion, the ruptured metals would have pierced his heart. And the flames consumed him. Aces was perceived to be dead.
'As sour as you may look, Mister Briar. You haven't failed me yet with your work. Keep trying, dear...'
Their workshop and lab has been completely been recreated, if not completely upgraded. As if nothing changed since the accident of their past creation. Even Briar insists that nothing did change, and Dorian had been alive this whole time.
There was never a funeral. Death? Nonsense. Explosion? ...Perhaps...
And behind the inventor was none other than Dorian Aces himself, his snarky smile and large - formidable build was there. His bombastic laughter and enthusiasm were one of his greatest attributes when he worked.
Though this Dorian was nothing but a walking robot, who Cecil managed to perfectly capture the complete embodiment of the man himself. He was programmed to be just that - except for a little tidbit of change.
His purpose wasn't just to carry on a great will of designing inventions. He's there to be with Cecil for eternities - if not forever.
'I am Dorian. ...Or I think I am supposed to. Did... did he love him as much as I was made to? Or... did he never?'

- Dorian was created after the death of his human counterpart, who had died from an accident during a test run.
