Immortal pirate, and first mate to the notorious Edward Jones, he is the only reliable and consistent friend that the captain has, and the only that Edward saw fitting to share his gift of immortality. Edward, a trickster and fun-loving man is the opposite of his first mate. Ghislaine is hardened by bitterness, opposed to trusting others, and very simple in his wishes and demands. He states what he thinks, never talks more than necessary, and he is the heavy hand that enacts the wishes of his captain.
Despite the fact its often wondered if the captain is somehow brainwashing Ghislaine, or he is only a servant, they are in truth great friends with a friendship spanning many lifetimes. And the only friend that Edward still has from his very first round of piracy.

Simple, straightforward, He is quick to state his mind and quicker to defend it. He has a bit of a stubborn streak,but is mostly adaptable to situations, no matter how much he may complain about it. He steals for the thrill, and the call of loot is only a second plan. He works for others most often, selling his services to the highest bidder. You pay- he steals what you want. He doesn't care what it is. He makes a good living off of it. In his downtime, he tends to grow quickly bored of everything, and will often pick brawls just for the sake of keeping himself entertained. Though a pirate, he generally means well, and given the choice between harming and helping he'll likely swing for the latter. Though greed is a cruel mistress, and in most situations his biggest flaw is being swayed by the offer of a grand adventure; for his vice lies in collecting experiences.
Being a thrillseeker such as he, he is of course terribly reckless and endangering to both himself and those around him, and though scolded frequently by the older seafarers that the sea punishes naivety it goes in one ear and out the other.
His favorite thing about the sea, not necessarily the sea itself. Ghis prefers the anonymity of it, the wide open expanse, and truly the opportunity to be nobody. To be no one, and someone. Alone on a ship, the most important person in the world, and yet- but a small gust in a giant tempest around you. Where a wrong move can cost a life, and a right one lead you to paradises undiscovered. All impacts small- yet impressionable upon the world of the sailor. The magic of being the master of your own life, in a sea that doesn't care to learn your name, was something that always called to him.
As long as he was on the ocean, who he'd been before this, didn't matter. All that mattered was the destiny he forged.
✧ He can't stand not having anything to do at all, gets very restless. In contrast, Edward is happy to laze about. Despite being first mate and not captain, Ghislaine often performs many of his duties.

Friends since their younger days, and also the one who shared with Ghislaine the gift of immortality. He has a strong loyalty to his closest companion, and views him much like a brother. As of now, he would not dream of ever betraying or abandoning him.
