Hoofhissers are a very violent species and will often engage in fights with each other. The loser typically loses a few teeth during the fight and they are shunned by their peers. The winner gets to keep the teeth and that’s where their currency comes from. Whoever can fight the best wins the most money.
Not all are violent however.
Some like to enjoy the scenery of planet Earth. All Hoofhissers are born on Earth. They typically live in forests and mountainous regions.
Even though they fight a lot it is extremely taboo to kill another Hisser’s snakes. A snake dying is a great tragedy and the killer is almost always, never heard from again.
There are tales of a healer that can bring dead snakes back to life but only if they are brought within a day. No one has seen said healer but they are rumored to be deep within a cave.
Most will desperately search for the healer even at the cost of their lives. It is often too late for the snake to be revived.
