Mistral is cheeky and witty witch who comes from a long line of priestesses who tend to the souls passing through to the afterlife. After having spent all of her upbringing preparing to carry on her family's legacy, Mistral has ventured out to build her own shine and use her ghost sorcery to aid the deceased as a guide. While she may come off rather lazy to the outside viewer, she takes her work seriously despite her unorthodox manners.

In the early years of her shine, Mistral formed a friendship with Roswald and agreed to take him on as an apprentice in her field of magic, in exchange for his assistence (aka doing all the chores she doesn't like to do). The two formed a strong sibling-like relationship during his apprenticeship, however broke off his studies abruptly once Roswald took an interest in Necromancy and Mistral's strong distain for the dark art. The friends would still maintain their connection, often with Mistral acting as the voice of reason to her severely misguided friend each time he would come to visit. After Roswald's run in with the Zoemancer's spirit and the curse she placed on her legendary book, he goes to her for aid and Mistral agrees to help her dumb cowboy friend on locating the artifact one more time, so long as he can pay her in return.
