Cecil's a quiet individual who prefers to be by herself. She's selectively mute, and would much rather listen to others than contribute to the conversation. She has a habit of keeping to a routine and has a very hard time breaking it.
She's very loyal and choosy when it comes to the people she choices to hang around with. She takes things too seriously sometimes and has a hard time figuring out if someone is joking or not.

Cecil's parents' jobs needed the family to move monthly, and Cecil's siblings had a particular sickness that recommended different environments for healing. Because of this, her parents homeschooled her and her sister Katherine. Cecil never bothered making friends due to her social awkwardness and desire to not leave them.
Eventually, they settled down in Rosebrook. It was close enough to the next biggest city over without being in the city, and the air was clean enough.
Her family was poor for most of her childhood. They didn't have tv or internet, so Cecil grew up with books, dolls, and her sister for company. Growing up, both Cecil and Katherine had depression due to the state of their house, lack of socialization, and neglect.
Because of the crushing medical bills that the family had to suffer due to Cecil’s other siblings, the parents were unable to afford antidepressants. But that's only if they acknowledged their other children at all. Cecil was the best at hiding her depression from her parents, but Katherine had a harder time.
Unbeknownst to the two girls, their parents were planning to get rid of one of them, to free up some money. Since Cecil was the smartest and more seemly neurotypical than Katherine, it was decided that Katherine would be the one to go.

- Regardless of her selective muteness, Cecil prefers to keep audio diaries instead of writing. She's the only one allowed to listen to them.
- Cecil avoids mirrors. Her siblings had sickly faces, so her mother covered all mirrors in the house. To keep Cecil from taking the blankets off, she told Cecil that if she ever looked in a mirror, a beast would come out and steal her soul. She now knows it's stupid, but she's still unable to shake off this reaction.
- Her full name is Cecily, but she really hates the name because she thinks it sounds old fashion.
- Doesn't swear often, but when she does, it's reacted to as one reacts to a child swearing.
- After Kath was brought to live with their aunt, Cecil set about teaching her how to read brail. She even taught Katherine morse code for when Cecil is having one of her mute days.

Cecil loves her sister, and gets that she's still upset about what happened. She respects her boundaries and gives her space. While Katherine never said what she felt about the past out loud, Cecil can pick up pieces from random thoughtless comments and her art.
Delta and Cecil met at enrichment program. They both bounded over their outcast status and interest in the paranormal/old technology. Delta thinks Cecil is delightful and enjoys their extreme height difference.

Met her through Delta. Cecil was warry of Melody at first due to her delinquency. But she warmed up after a while. They're an odd pair and a good example of opposite attracts. Mel and Cecil do hang out with just the two of them. Even though Mel enjoys ribbing Cecil and annoying her, the two have a very similar type of humour and get along decently.
