Melody Fyre

Melody was born the bastard child of her mother and one of their servants, born one year after their mother's legitimate daughter, Serenity. Her mother did not care for her at all, and once her supposed father found out about Mel, he was furious. Instead of punishing her mother, he took out all his anger on Mel.

Even though Mel was given to the servants to raise, to keep her away from Serenity (less she taint her, somehow), the girls found ways to be together once Serenity found out about her younger half-sister. Serenity was the first one she openly came out to after her servant family.

At 16, Melody escaped her abusive "father" by moving in with Diana, the girl who grew up across the street and made an effort to befriend Melody. Diana's father was delighted to have Mel, to give her a better father figure.

Melody was born the illegitimate daughter of her mother and one of the servants, one year after Serenity was born. Still, she and her sister still have similar appearances, just with slight differences (Serenity’s freckles and heterochromia).

Mel was given to the servants to raise, mainly to escape her should-be father’s ire. Mel was never registered as an official child, her birth and existence kept hidden from the world less her parent’s reputation would be solid. They tried to keep her away from Serenity, but the girls always found a way to get together.

She grew up helping them with their jobs, and in return, the servants and other house workers took her in and helped her learn.

Still, Mel found a way to get on her father’s bad side, and she was punished by hard whips hidden behind closed doors.

Her room was underneath Serenity’s, and the girls took advantage of that by building a dumbwaiter in the hollow walls. The servants helped them, and the dumbwaiter was built with extra room for the girls to grow into. Mel’s door was hidden behind a portrait, while Serenity’s door was hidden in the wallpaper.

Mel and Serenity would frequently switch places. Serenity was raised to behave like a proper lady, but she sucked at socializing. So Mel would take her place, and Serenity would do Mel’s chores for her. Somehow their parents never found out, while the servants knew, but kept it hidden.

Mel started questioning her sexuality when she was a teen. Her parents threw lavish parties, and many other socialites would come over, bringing their children with them. Mel worked as a waiter, but she would frequently stop to stare at the other girls. Mel felt ashamed, but after the party, she brought it up with the house workers. They told her it was okay, and she shouldn’t be ashamed.

When Mel was 16, she left the manor to live with Dianna, who lived across the street from her. The two girls grew up with their own secret codes, flashing flash lights and other things growing up.

At Diana's house, Mel got her own proper room and got to decorated it however she wanted; unlike when she lived in the servant’s quarter.
