Watercolor Wish

Coming up with names is hard. T T 

Maybe Oswald (Oz), Alistair...?

SUMMARY:

A spirit who manifests when the snow starts melting.

They take different forms each spring, but normally prefer

to appear as something playful; to amuse either themselves

or whoever might need to smile. They're very mischievous

and can't be tied to one place for very long.

FLAVOR STORY:

The little girl frowned down at the kitchen floor.

Her mother had shown her so carefully how to empty the yolk

and prep the eggs for painting. Now all that was left of this one

was a big globby mess of yellow with shards in it.

It was so pretty, too.

White like snow and most importantly - she picked it herself!

Oh, she wishes she could have painted it.

She would have made it the best one in the batch.

Before her frown could turn into tears, a swirl of dyed water

whipped out of the container on the table, formed a whirlpool

around the smashed egg and kept twisting, threatening to tear

down every shelf on the wall.

Until the kitchen storm subsided

and a fantastical creature stood in front of her - white like snow

just like her egg. And.. a little cracked.. just like her egg.

"I'm fine - see? I even have two cute bunny ears

and an adorable tail. Best of all, you can still paint me."

They beamed.

Stunned, the girl's eyes had grown to the size of plates.

When the creature bowed their head, she could see indeed they

had the same fragile texture as the egg.

They straightened back up with a smile.

"Now, I think I would look much better with a splash of color.

Don't you agree? Won't you help me dress up?"

At that, she lit up and grabbed her watercolor set.

With the same determination as before - she did, indeed

make this one the best in the batch.

EXTRA FLAVOR:

- since their current form lost its yolk

they chose to fill themselves with paint water instead

- very good at playing the flute

- invisible to people who don't believe in spirits

however they can make themselves visible if they want to

- when they're sad, the paint becomes murky

- can turn into a bunny, and communicate with them as well

- the satchel on their hip contains a watercolor set
