Welcome to Dragonhope Weyr's "Special" sands! - last update on official site was June 8 2015 (new linked pages) -- Updated again 3.28.21 For updates please log onto the Nexus Discord and PM me (Zekiran/Shard) there. I will be taking candidates there for the sake of easy reference. Room for ? more candidates! Note that some information is old as hell and can safely be ignored but I'll ** those things. Other bits might be ** notifications too, those are older. The special sands will only be used in remarkable circumstances. Like the ones leading up to... "YOU WALK INTO A WEYR..." Harkening back to the old days - for many dragon-cyberpet collectors anyway - when almost every story was set in second person present tense, and started with those very words? If you don't, you'll shortly be able to imagine it. The special sands at Dragonhope are not quite for exotic dragons or eggs that might hatch with rare colors. Nope! In fact, they're more for the 'special' candidates. As per discussion on the Kshau Protectorate Cyberpets board (RIP), I would like to announce the first (and probably only) "Flashback" clutch. There will be no limits as to how many candidates are allowed at it, as some ungodly number of eggs has been laid by the queen. Dragons hatching from this clutch will be as follows: Golds are female, for females only. Number of golds will depend on how many gold-worthy girls are sent - 'gold worthy' being highly variable... Any girl trying for but not bonding gold will get green, no exceptions. Bronzes are male, for males only. Bronzes will be awarded to egocentric, arrogant bastard males who actually can handle the attention. Browns are male, and will hardly ever pick a female, but if they do watch out! Browns will be given to 'guys' in general, and really tough chicks who are NOT feminine. Blues are male, and like boys, but sometimes they will pick girls. Blues will be given out to guys without much story, or to those who are happy go lucky dudes, as well as tough girls who are still not quite butch enough for browns. Greens are female and like girls, but those fruity boys are okay too. Girls in general will get greens, and gaaaayyy guys. Whites? What whites? We don't have any whites here, this is a ultra-traditional weyr. ** Dragons are hatched knowing their names, I will accept all suggestions for silly, weird, already-used, or even infringing names. Expect that I might change the SPELLING of those that have either been used or are something I should not be using (wolverineth... Ruth might become Rooth or Röth). If more than two dragons share the same suggested name, that might be fun too. These will be first-edition Talor images only. Format must be strictly followed: All candidates pages... Must contain the words, "you walk into a weyr", preferably in a context which then allows the reader to be 'led' through the living space of an already-searched candidate. Candidate story should start AFTER searching, while they are residing in the candidate barracks or weyrs at Dragonhope. That way, the viewer gets to ask questions like, "how were you searched" and "where did you live before the weyr found you" and "can I read your diary?" :) May be very short. Expect a green. NO STATS PAGES accepted for this clutch, sorry. There has to be some effort. Even if it's purposefully crap. Image of the character is encouraged. Bowser art for gold candidates practically a must. LOL!! (I am Soooo sick of that guys' art. it's nice - but every one and I mean EVERY ONE has used his art for their prize-possession females!!) Music is acceptable, but remember your bandwidth. And no corrupted midi files please... I've had those crash my computer before! All male candidates must elide their names. Points for funny name shortenings. :) Pets are encouraged. I'm not even going to bother putting a limit on the number of gold and bronze flitters - but I do ask that there not be a ton of really weird or very rare pets (like ferilons, ojee, things that are NOT found on Canon Pern) for this clutch. I think I will also impose that if a candidate is seriously not good enough to bond, they won't. Period. Okay, I take it back. I'll do something else with those... (Some might remember the 'bad weyr examples' we all were fond of, too... yeah I'm talking THAT bad. Stinky bad. Go for it. You know you want to.) **If it makes me laugh so hard it brings tears to my eyes I will think about those whites... |
THE PROCESS this time? Create your candidate page. Then ... Send this info to me on the Discord. * Your online ID and working email * The candidate's name, age and gender * The candidate's page url that works the first time I click on it * Any requests for color or name (specifically gold candidates, but everyone please) * If male, the name you want to shorten it to !!! Please be sure to send your recommendations for rank and name. Create as many characters and suggestions as you want, and please tell me if it's okay to send your names to other characters by other creators !!! Oh yeah the code word for this clutch, please include it in the subject line or somewhere... is ... SCALED DRAGON. (see, it's a joke, because pernese dragons aren't scaley, they're leathery - they're not like earth reptiles, right? right??) ** you don't have to do this, but it's fun... let's just get this dumb thing hatched, shall we?** Who is responsible for the eggs on these sands? Why, a strange girl from the Kshau Protectorate who somehow Impressed a beautiful golden queen. Gidrah's gold Aureliath, flown by bronze Clooneath ridden by A'dam, has proudly chosen to lay her brood here at Dragonhope. **those links don't work, sorry, see the images enclosed here**. While Aurealiath is a small queen, and Clooneath is a moderately large bronze... this has clearly caused some problems. It's a good thing that the candidates coming to the Weyr didn't have to endure the agony and noises that poor Aureliath went through while she laid this gigantic clutch!! |
UNKNOWN / NO CURRENT INFO ** needs confirmation about whether you still exist/want a dragon. Will keep one in mind, but not unless I know you're out there and willing to put up the dragons. The pages are really good. I hate leaving them out. I will keep the dragons and link to their stories, actually. I know it's a very long shot either of these owners will be coming back on :( If they do, I can always retrofit the clutch, but they will not be included until they show up. **3.29.21
