Brynhild is a young woman of Norwegian descendant. She has long, red-blonde-hair, with bright blue eyes, and a tanned skin tone. Her long hair is usually tied and pulled into a braid, which she keeps over her right shoulder. She also has a beauty mark under her right eye. In her first appearance, she wore a Norse-inspired outfit along with some armor over her body. She wore a custom-made Duel Disk on her left arm.

The name Brynhild is of Norse origin meaning "A fighter woman with an armor". The name Eirikdottir is the matronymic version of Eirikson, which was given to th daughter of a man.

Born in ancient Scandinavia, Brynhild was the second child of viking chief, Eirik Askelson and his wife, Ragna Ketildottir, and the younger sister of Thoren Eirikson. At the age of fourteen, she was married to Ragnar Henderson, with whom she had one child, a daughter named Freja Ragnardottir.
Due to unknown causes, Brynhild ended up becoming frozen in ice for almost two millennium, before she was thawed and awoken by a mysterious man who promised her to help her return to her time, if she helped him with his mission. Not thinking much besides seeing her family again, Brynhild agreed, thus becoming a Shadow Rider
- Duel Spirit communication: Brynhild has the ability to see Duel Monster Spirits. She often uses her Duel Spirits to help her translate what the Shadow Riders are saying, as she cannot understand their language.
- Dueling proficiency: In a short amount of time, since being revived from ice, Brynhild has become quite an exceptional duelist, able to work with whatever she has on hand.
- Multilingualism: Born and raised in Ancient Norway, Brynhild is able to understand Ancient Norse. At first, she is unable to understand or speak English and Japanese, leaving someone to translate for her.
- Cooking and craftsmanship: As the second child and daughter of a Viking chief, Brynhild was not taught the roles of leadership over her tribe, as her brother, Thoren would become chief. As a daughter, she was instead, taught the roles of a woman, and wife, as she would be not able to become a leader.
Brynhild uses a Phantasy Deck which are comrised of LIGHT monsters that focus on reviving themselves when destroyed to trigger their effects. Her ace monsters include "Phantasy Dragon", "Phantasy Wyvern", and "Phatasy Phoenix".

During the time Atticus was being controlled by Darkness, Brynhild was able to see something through him, but not be able to figure it out until after their defeat to Jaden and Kylie, respectively.
While he was healing, Brynhild remained by Atticus side, keeping him company and watching over him, despite the hostility she would get from Alexis. She understood his sister's worry, she did, but whenever Alexis was around, Brynhild would stay away.
Originally enemies, Brynhild and Kylie turned into friends shortly after. As the only one who could understand what Bryndhild was saying, Kylie acted as her translator and guide, until she could understand the others. When it became apparent that Brynhild would be remaining on the island, Kylie also defended her when the others were not keen, despite her defecting from the Shadow Riders.
During the summer after their first year, Kylie takes Brynhild back home to Norway to help her get used to the modern age. It is there they learn more of her history, including her current descendants.
As a young teenager, Brynhild was married to a viking warrior by the name of Ragnar Henderson. Back then marriages at young age were fairly common, so it was required for Brynhild, along with being the daughter of the Chief. They had one child together, a daughter named Freja. Unfortunately, to unknown circumstances Brynhild became frozen in time.
The extent of Ragnar and Brynhild's relationship is still unknown to this day
Finding out she had family in the current times wasn't something Brynhild expected. But in a way, in worked. Now living in the modern world, Kylie introduced Brynhild to her best friend's family, the Anderson, who they later learned were descendants of Brynhild. In all, it made it easier to explain why no one say Brynhild for years: distant relatives. Despite that, Brynhild found herself forming a friendship and sibling-ship with Jesse, who in turn became the brother she always wanted, as she and her biological brother never really talked or hung out together.
