Keiko Shiraishi (白石恵子 Shiraishi Keiko) was a third year student from Shiratorizawa Academy. She is the captain for the girl's soccer team and is the manager for the boy's volleyball team during her third year due to injury.
Keiko was born Okinawa but raised in Tokyo, she is childhood friends Kiyoomi Sakusa and Motoya Komori. After her mother's sudden death she moved to a different area and attended Mori Junior High School instead of Dōshō Junior High with Sakusa and Motoya. She stays in the dorms at Shiratorizawa and comes back to Tokyo during breaks or for tournaments when playing club. She used to play volleyball in elementary school and junior high but quit in her transition to high school, she was well known for her setting abilities and height in her youth.
After she graduates from Shiratorizawa she goes to America to attend Yale and play soccer there, she majored in economics & mathematics. After finishing college she travels to Europe in order to play for Manchester City’s women’s team. As of 2021 she's rising in fame as a player and is currently a member of the Japan National Soccer Team.
She is the younger sister of Manami Shiraishi
Keiko is a tall girl standing at 175 cm, while her other classmates average 157 cm. While she looks slim and petite due to her baggy clothing but she’s a lot more muscular than she appears. She has medium length textured black hair that is usually worn up and has uneven bangs. Her eyes are cat like and green-ish and she has a beauty mark on her left cheek. She rarely uses makeup since she has no time to apply it and her hair is usually messily styled, she also has a slit in her left eyebrow that she usually covers. She has five piercings in her right ear and four in her left ear for a total of nine piercings.
During the timeskip she cuts her hair shorter and has her hair styled as a mullet/pixie cut mix. She got new piercings, a tongue piercing, a belly button piercing, and a conch piercing in her right ear, for a total of 12 piercings. As she grew older her face became slightly less feminine making her look androgynous with her short hair. Sometimes she get's mistaken for a male, specifically a teen male because she looks young. (In her youth she used to be mistake for a little boy)
Her uniform consists of a beige-ish sweater, a lavender button down, a purple bow and skirt with a grid pattern, her gym sweatpants, black calf socks, and tennis shoes. (She refuses to wear loafers because they're uncomfortable and hurt her feet) She only wears her blazer for special events and normally gets in trouble for her messy uniform. During volleyball practices she wears a black shirt like the other members and will wear gym sweat pants and her team jacket in winter/fall and gym shorts in summer/spring. For soccer she'll wear her team jacket and shorts with leggings in the winter/fall with a insulator shirt under the jacket and in summer/spring she'll wear her practice jersey and shorts.
Her casual style can be considered loungewear. She constantly wears some sort of black in her outfits and really enjoys wearing off the shoulder sweaters. Her go to outfit is a baggy jacket and pants with a brand name shoe.

Skin Tone: warm - She's on the paler side of the warm skin tone spectrum but in the summer she becomes more tan. In winter it fades and she goes back to her regular tone.
Mental Issues: GAD, OCD, and Dissociative Disorder - Her GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and Dissociative Disorder were developed after her mother's death. She's had OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) since she was young and is centered mostly around constantly checking to make sure things are in place or on/off.
Sight: average - Post-timeskip she ends up needing glasses but she wears contacts.
Physical Abilities: above average - She has extremely flexible ankles which help her avoid many ankle/leg injuries. Her legs and arms are muscular and strong , her hands have great grip strength.

To others Keiko appears quiet and cold, often perceived as awkward as well. Her outward demeanor is very stiff, she constantly averts eye contact while talking to others. She constantly avoids putting herself in the center of attention and speaks in limited sentences. She wasn't always quiet but afterher mother's death her outgoing and playful personality faded and she became much more closed off. Her face is usually a blank/tired expression and it's very rare you'll see anything besides that. People who have caught a glimpse of her other expressions say it's kind of unsettling for her to not have a blank face. She enjoys working alone whether it’s school or sports but, her teammates and teachers get mad at her stubborn desire to be independent. She is quite blunt to her peers whenever they ask for her opinion and it causes some people to think she’s mean. She’s very avoidant when people ask her about her personal life or hobbies. She has a tendency to shut those questions down.
She has an extremely hard time picking up on others emotions and that causes her to seem insensitive. She tends to get herself in trouble because she doesn't seem to be able to pick up the cue to not say anything in some situations. When she does say something wrong and realizes it, she gets extremely flushed due to embarrassment. She is considered a very hard working person, her classmates always see her training or studying. Some wonder if she’s a robot as normally she’s never seen doing anything else. Keiko is an extremely humble person, she tries not to make herself seem bigger and better than she is. Sometimes her humbleness backfires and she diminish her skills and causes herself to become really hard on herself.
Overall Keiko is pretty quiet and tends to be overlooked by her peers due to her quietness. Despite being a very smart girl her emotional intelligence is extremely low and it makes it hard for her to get along with her peers. While she tries to stay neutral on the outside internally, she is struggling with heavy emotions and is very emotional in her thoughts. Most of her stress and emotional turmoil is self induced. Those who are close to her are able to see a slightly chattier side of her and realize she’s just a softy on the inside. Even though people tend to avoid getting personable with her, many of her peers are interested in trying to understand her and get past her mysteriousness.
Keiko stay pretty apprehensive towards branching out for most of her teen years but after a semester or two in America she begins to become more expressive. Many of her classmates there to her suggest therapy to her and are more talkative about mental health which pushes her to seek help. Once she finishes college her Japanese peers don’t even recognize her as she’s made drastic changes to her demeanor and personality.

Keiko was born to an upper middle class family as the second daughter. She had an extremely close relationship with her mom and was distant towards her sister, Manami, and her father Akira. Keiko’s mom was a retired Olympic swimmer and her father was a well known physical therapist. Keiko’s mother was a carefree and rebellious individual, she had never planned on settling down and having kids she even wanted to return to swimming after her injury. Akira was her physical therapist when she injured herself, at first the two clashed as she didn’t take her injury seriously and he was very serious about her recovery and her fooling around too much. He had also no intention of having a family due to him being busy all of the time yet, after a hook up her mother ended up being pregnant with Manami. They then became a couple and stayed in Okinawa where they got married and had Keiko three years later. Once Keiko was born they moved to Tokyo after Akira got a job promotion. For a while the family was fine with the usual schedule of her mom being a stay at home mom and her dad being at work.
Keiko grew up with Motoya Komori and Kiyoomi Sakusa, she normally stood out from the two as she was much taller than them both when they were younger. Keiko generally got along well with her peers but Motoya was probably her best friend, she was kind to her classmates and was overall just a sweet kid. Keiko's mom was glad her daughter was reaching out to other kids since Manami hadn't gotten along with her peers as well as Keiko. Keiko's father was pretty absent most her life due to work so she clung to her mom a lot. However, her sister Manami was distanced from both parents and avoided Keiko.
In her family sports and fitness were extremely important so, Motoya tried to get Keiko into volleyball. While she did enjoy the sport when it came to spiking or setting, she had a hard time with receiving and jamming her fingers when blocking. Her mom then suggested she go to a soccer clinic with her cousin, Tsubasa, Keiko went and after that she became obsessed with soccer. Everywhere she went she carried a ball with her, she'd perform tricks for her classmates and she practiced every moment she could. She became really good at this sport fast and was already on top teams by the time she was 10, she still played volleyball so she could practice with Motoya and Kiyoomi but it wasn't her priority.
At this time Keiko was extremely happy despite the fact her sister never talked to her or attended her games, same for her dad. Keiko believed all she needed in life was her mom. Keiko never had a strong relationship with her father but it was worse with her sister. Manami didn't even have Keiko's number in her phone until Keiko went to high school. Manami was the problem child of the two sisters and was always gettin in trouble at school as well as kicked off her basketball teams. Keiko and Manami’s dad wold pay for all their interests and give advice but the relationship was more like a teacher and student relationship than a father and daughter relationship. To Keiko this didn’t bother her but it made Manami furious.
In her last year of elementary school her mother had died. Her peers pestered her for information but Keiko refused to talk about it. Keiko replayed the moments in her head constantly, it was all she could think about. At this time she was extremely unstable causing her to become temporarily mute. When her family attended her mother's funeral they were disheartened to hear her mom's body was unable to be recovered. Keiko was known to be an extremely emotional child in her family, she'd cry at every little problem or would easily get overexcited. So when she wasn't crying despite her sister and father crying, caused a lot of commotion between family members. Motoya had tried to approach her after the funeral but she just glared at him and walked away. He still tried to hang out with her but she had distanced herself from him and Kiyoomi.
Junior high Keiko was extremely quiet and because of that she usually got picked on because she looked timid. She decided to try wearing her hair up and maybe it would make her seem more proud/ lift her up but her peers finally saw all her piercings and thought she was some sort of thug. Many classmates spread rumors about her being a delinquent due to her appearance. In her second year of junior high she met Keiji Akaashi on the roof of the school. She was standing on the edge, she was trying to feel the spring breeze better and he was afraid she was about to jump. He tried to yell out for her to not do it but she hopped over the railing to grab her bag They made eye contact but she looked away and walked to the stairs. After that incident they met on the roof more frequently to talk and hang out after seeing each other multiple times on the roof coincidentally. She found him interesting and didn't mind the company despite normally being cold to her classmates. Occasionally, she'd help him with volleyball and teach him setting tricks. Both of them were viewed as "lone wolves" in their school and it was found to be ironic that they hung out with each other. In her third year she was conflicted about which high school she should pick since they all had good programs she had recommendations to Shiratorizawa and Fukurōdani. She decided to pick Shiratorizawa in order to distance herself from her family and past.

- Jump Serve: Keiko does not have the most powerful serve but has good technique. She's able to add a side-spin on it that makes it hard to receive.
- Dump Set: In middle school she was notorious for using this, it was her best skill.
- Toss Rebound: Another move she'd constantly use when a teammate would mess up a receive, instead of normally tossing it well, she'd rebound against the blockers to give the team a chance to reset and attack again.
- Dump Shot Feint: Keiko would lure opponents into a foul by pretending to dump before switching to a toss. This play relied on the rules and she'd have to make sure the blockers were over the net before she set. She'd usually use this when in a tight situation at the net.
