Backstory:

Childhood: Hugo was born on a warm July evening, much to the delight of his parents and other visiting family members. Growing up in a small urban city in France, and having no other brothers or sisters, the only company Hugo had was his mother and father. Although busy most days, they still tried their best to spend as much time with the little pup as they could.

While very caring, they were still a tad strict, and expected Hugo to do the best that he could. As he matured, he grew both annoyed but accustomed to the constant pressure, still, he kept his head high.

Teen Years: After middle school finally came to an end, Hugo’s new high school life remained rather simple, yet his parent’s expectations of him were left unchanged. Knowing this, he didn’t dare fall flat with his studies. Despite working his fingers down to the bone, it all paid off once he finally graduated at 18.

Adulthood: After some months have passed, Hugo finally decided to move away from his parents and home country, then enrolling into college. Choosing to follow in the footsteps of his parents and their similar career choices, he earned a degree in criminology, with it, he was hired and trained to work at the local police station in the new city he started living in, Foxdale.Three years went by, as he grew into his routine; patrolling around the city, giving chase and arresting potential suspects, filing reports, and so on. Despite being quite proud of this work, everything would come to a screeching halt, once he found out the truth.

While looking through police reports, he realized a majority of the people he’s arrested were innocent, as evidenced by a few having no previous nor current felonies. Sickened by this, he made haste in confronting the police chief about the issue, yet he simply brushed it off, and told Hugo not to bother bringing it up again. Of course, he didn’t listen. Finally after a few more days passed, he was told to turn in his badge and leave, seeing he could do nothing more, he simply accepted defeat.

Afterwards, Hugo began working a series of odd jobs, while they all kept food on his table, he knew he couldn’t spend the rest of his days like this, but at long last, he found his calling in being a private investigator. Seeing he could use the knowledge that he previously learned, he quickly hopped on board and started up a small agency from home. Finally, at 39, he took his small business out onto the streets, now running shop in his own office building.
