Backstory:

Childhood: Clancy came into the world on a calm, but cold October morning. The second oldest son in the soon-to-be family of 8.

After moving from the U.K. to the U.S. at 13, Clancy and his family settled in a small township, after his parents inherited a shop previously owned by another family member. Due to being so close by, more often than not Clancy and his older brother would find themselves working alongside their parents after school, while his brother wasn’t too fond of keeping things organized and clean, Clancy found some joy out of it.

As Clancy grew older, however, and the rest of his siblings came along, his parents quickly noticed a change, as he had a tendency for lashing out at certain things, people, or even his siblings if they did anything out of order. Growing more concerned, they quickly took him in for a check up, revealing that he had mild behavioral problems, with this, Clancy’s demeanor would only worsen as time passed.

Teen Years: Middle school rolled by, and high school came along, yet Clancy would continuously pick fights with other students or raise his voice at teachers, resulting in him getting suspended more often than not. After being sent home again, these doings not only kept Clancy’s parents concerned, but now more peeved.

Everything would then escalate once they arrived home, and Clancy announced that he was planning on dropping out from school altogether, believing that he had learned nothing from it. Enraged by this, his parents weighed into him, striking a full-blown argument between the three. Eventually having enough of it, Clancy stomped up to his room, making his parents threaten to kick him out of the house if he went through with his decision. Taking what they said to heart and not wanting to be around any longer, the teen packed as many things as he could carry and snuck outside, making haste away from his home.

After a month or more of wandering and sleeping on the streets, Clancy, now 17, finally settled on staying in Foxdale. Taking a break in an alleyway, he pondered what his next plan of action would be, that is, until he spotted a group of kids around his age, hauling in large bags of unknown substances into an old building. Feeling uneasy about it, he decided to find a different spot to rest at, until one of the kids spotted him peeking over, making the rest chase after him. He did his best to escape, but it would prove fruitless after one of them jumped out and knocked him to the ground, unconscious.

Waking up moments later, Clancy found himself surrounded by the same group, despite wanting to escape again, one of the kids spoke up, claiming that he stumbled upon their drug ring, and would not allow him to leave. Desperate, Clancy pleaded with the group, hoping to get out of trouble somehow, eventually, the group decided to let him off the hook, on the condition he stay and help them, and never speak about what he’s seen, at the cost of his life. Seeing he had no other options nor plans, Clancy accepted it.

Adulthood: In spite of this unexpected lifestyle, Clancy grew accustomed, with the hard work paying off and earning the respect of the rest of the group. Unfortunately for them, things would only take a turn for the worse.

Police busted into their hideout and swarmed the inside. Due to word going around about their growing trade, everyone and everything was brought to the station, and each member was sat down for questioning. Clancy’s then turn came up, as he was sat down before a younger Hugo, despite him being calm and patient, Clancy was still too anxious to speak, finally with some time, Hugo persuaded Clancy enough to talk. Taking a deep breath, he spilled out everything he knew. Showing nothing but empathy, the cop briefly explained that changing his ways would be best, if he wished for a different life, Clancy understood and accepted Hugo’s advice, and was eventually sent back to his cell. Doing nothing but repeating what was said to him in his head, he awaited the trial and to hear his and the others' sentences.

Seven years passed and finally released at 26. Clancy realized he had little money and no roof over his head, he made haste by looking for a job, recalling everything that was advised to him back then. While having no luck so far thanks to his new criminal record, in time, he stumbled upon a simple janitorial job that was quick to accept him. Clancy’s efforts paid off, as he was now able to afford his own place to stay. Keeping up with that, reconciling with his family, and earning a much needed GED, he finally started to look for his calling in life, one in which that would accept his credentials. Finally, an ad about becoming the partner of a private investigator caught his attention, while unsure of it, in the end, he sent in a resume, waiting to hear something back.

After his 33rd birthday rolled around and his resume was accepted, the interview’s date came up, and he made his way to the building, little did he know though, he’d soon end up working with the same poodle who sat down with him all those years ago.
