One tough cookie, Cottonmouth was always top of the apprentices when it came to battle practice. Originally, the previous leader wanted to name her Cottonfang, but she requested "mouth" specifically, to seem softer - half as a ruse to fool other clans, and half because, despite her battle toughness, Cottonmouth is, generally, a huge softie inside. Her favorite pastime whenever she's free is to play with kits in the nursery, bringing them feathers and mossballs.

Hazelstar's first pick as deputy, both of them know that, should anything happen to Hazelstar, Cottonmouth will not become leader. She has qualities fit for a deputy, knows how to do her duties, but she has no ambitions, and does not believe she'd manage the role of leader well. The two sometimes sit to the side, observing camp and chatting about who, instead, would take Hazelstar's place...
