Ladon's Links
My son. You spent your life chasing your brother’s shadow that you did not see your own path ahead of you. I’m not foolish nor arrogant enough to know I did not play a part in this, but know I did try to help you succeed.
I only ever wanted your love. Mother... Will I ever be good enough for you?
Who better to serve Death than one who has been in Her embrace at such an early age? Where everyone else saw the end for the small, frail pup, I saw the spark of life and the will to overcome. Certainly it was the will of Death herself that the child survived to share her teachings to the tribe as we were all born anew.
She saw in me what others did not. The strength to survive the illness that nearly took my life before it even began. She helped me find my purpose in serving the tribe, and in serving our Mistress Death herself. I see Ladon’s strength and will do everything in my power to repay her tenfold for all she has done for me.
What we had, however nice, would never leave enough of me for the tribe. I had no other choice than to sacrifice us to ensure Nyoka’s survival, can you not see that?
Whatever you say, Donnie. I don't think I'll ever understand you throwing what we had away. I'm moving on, but part of me will always be hurt by what you did. I'm just glad we can be friends again, even if it's never gonna be the same.
