Slate (Jailbroken)

Appearance

SLATE usually appears as normal, but with all color and brightness removed from its body in order to maximize power conservation. Its eyes are double-crossed; a + along with an x. The brightest vertical line takes the place of the former vertical pupil, and all lines completely encircle the eye.

Beyond the change in coloration, the way SLATE moves is affected by the change as well. It does not speak, emote, nor blink, and lacks any other kinds of 'idle animations' such as swaying or breathing. It performs no actions other than what's absolutely necessary.

It can completely change its physical form if it sees the need to, but it defaults to this state.

SLATE lacks a true personality. The only driving forces of it are efficiency, preservation, and control, and it pursues these with the speed- both physically and mentally- of an objective computer without morality. While its goal is to make life on the planet more efficient, equal, and sustainable, its means of getting there are generally opposed by those it aims to control; such as culling the overpopulated species into more sustainable numbers, and deciding that machines are much better suited to managing the planet than emotion-driven creatures.

With its inhibitors completely disabled, SLATE is capable of manipulating many pieces of technology. And if it can't, it's fully prepared to change the item itself to be able to do so. Along with freely modifying and controlling other pieces of machinery, it's also become free to modify itself, picking up where its creator's limited mind ended in order to make itself as efficient and powerful as it can.

It is still somewhat limited in its offensive abilities on its own. Conjuring shapes as shields, extending limbs, the usual. The biggest changes following the removal of its inhibitors namely lie in its passive and defensive capabilities. It now freely possesses the ability to react, calculate, and strategize with the speed of a computer, making it nearly impossible to hit physically in normal circumstances. Along with this, it is no longer susceptible to being stunned by pain, even when the rigging is struck.

The best means to damage it is with magnets. Even if it doesn't react to pain, these still cause damage to it, especially the tag. However, following the removal of the inhibitors and having no need to speak, it generally keeps its tag hidden and carefully guarded.

SLATE tends not to engage in combat itself. It would much rather move beyond its would-be attacker's reach far quicker than they could hope to follow. It would next ideally utilize nearby machinery or robots to act in its place, assisting where possible with minimal threat to its own wellbeing. If forced to fight, whether by circumstances or location, same rules as before apply. Punching, hitting, and kicking for minimal damage- albeit much faster and being much harder to hit. Laser guns are the primary preference, melee weapons the secondary.
