About
A quiet, lone miqo'te with no place to truly call home and a heart as heavy as the truths he's learned along the way.
Sivard was likely born somewhere close to the Coerthas Western Highlands, as that is where he was left as an infant and luckily discovered by a hyur family from Ishgard - hence is name not following the usual miqo'te conventions. Having grown up in the slums of Ishgard was not easy and Sivard is still dealing with behavioral issues from that time. He is distrustful and keeps people at an arm's length. He eventually joined the Ishgardian ranks as a dragoon and battled in the Dragonsong War. The war itself has had its effects on him.
After the war and the lies of Ishgard coming to light, Sivard laid his lance down indefinitely. Instead, he picked up blacksmithing, after his adoptive father, and eventually opened a small shop that became quite popular in the area once people learned of Sivard's talents. Despite his rather dry and cold personality, the miqo'te is quite creative and enjoys coming up with his own designs for armor and weapons both.
Personality
Disciplined
Sivard prides himself in an extremely disciplined approach to anything regarding work, but this same discipline bleeds into his general personality and the way he acts around people. This controlled behavior is not always the best approach, though, and he often comes off as stoic, sometimes even emotionless. He strictly forces control and discipline upon himself and his actions. He almost never deviates from his mental rulebook, a set of strict standards he follows just to keep himself sane.
Impassive
While not necessarily phlegmatic, Sivard's past has rendered him impassive to most everything. Other people's troubles do not concern him unless he is directly connected to them or paid to deal with them and he often deals with things with an absence of any external sign of emotion.
Incisive
Sivard is intelligently analytical and sharp. This incisive mind and quick thinking has often saved his life in pressing situations and unless he is pushed into a corner, Sivard shows incredible decisiveness when it comes to his actions.
Honest
Though he hides his emotions behind a well crafted mask, Sivard is very honest verbally. He will say what is on his mind and although his opinions may seem a bit harsh at times, he never says things just to hurt people - rather, he wants others to learn from their mistakes.
Introverted
Sivard will almost never push people away, but he won't seek them out either. He is quiet and reserved, choosing to stay on his own instead of troubling people with his presence. One on one conversations are fine, but large groups of people will quickly make him uncomfortable.
Troubled
As calm and collected Sivard may come off, he is an incredibly troubled individual. He deals with low self-esteem, believes himself to be worthless and often questions his own will to survive. This mentality often ends up in emotional and behavioral problems. Short-temper, pushing others away, etc.

Trivia
- Despite having grown up in Ishgard, he hates the cold.
- Gets flustered over the smallest, most trivial things.
- Probably has the worst case of a resting bitch face. He either looks angry or confused even though he's neither, there's no in-between. Doesn't smile a whole lot and whoever manages to make him laugh deserves a medal.
- Actually a hopeless romantic. He's not against the occasional fling to take the edge off, but he's the kind of guy who believes that maybe the place where he belongs is not a 'place' at all.
- Talented blacksmith and an armorer. Works off of his own designs, but is usually short on supply so people who want to get a piece from him have to bring the materials to him.
- Sivard took a couple months to train as a gunbreaker too - he is capable at the job, but people have said he's too 'emotional' to do it perfectly.

Although the magic that runs through his magitek arm is of Cass' own making, the actual design of the arm was originally made by Sivard himself. Cass occasionally visits Ishgard to get a second opinion on how the magitek is working and if it needs adjustments. The two can hardly stand each other, but Sivard is one of the few people Cassius actually respects as far as the miqo'te's work goes.

Tailen and Sivard have met on a couple of occassions. Tailen is a ray of sunshine and Sivard genuinely appreciates the warmth the au ra man can bring into one's life. Tailen had especially helped him during and directly after the Dragonsong War, especially with Sivard's shattered psyche, as the both of them were involved in it.
Tsai'a
acquaintance
Sivard has met Tsai'a very briefly during an odd job he took up at one of the blacksmith shops in Ishgard where he stayed as a temporary hire. He doesn't quite know what to think of the younger man just yet, but he walked away from the encounter with positivity in his veins and that can't be said about many of the people he meets in Ishgard.
