physical

petal always wears her scarf and the flowers in her tail and hair year-around. it's rare to see her eyes or see her smile. she can see just fine, her eyes are just masked by her hair. she has symmetrical markings. she is short, but her legs aren't stubby compared to her body.

personality

not necessarily shy, just independent. ever since what happened in her childhood, she has been reluctant to reach out and socialize in fear of something happening to anyone she grew to care about. however, because of what happened, she has learned to be grateful for life and what she has and has become very resourceful..

backstory

being born in a field with every inch covered in flowers (that is where she got her name) and ponds scattered around, petal lived happily with her mother and 4 other siblings for the first 6 years of her life. her mother found a scarf in the field while hunting and brought it back as a blanket for the kittens to use. then, a drought came over the area. the ponds drained, plants dried up, and the animals began to die. her mother and siblings all died off one-by-one. petal was the last one remaining. she was malnourished and on the brink of death. just then, she felt a drop of water fall on her nose. then another on her back, and then one on her ear. she saw drops fall on the ground. it was raining- the drought was over at last. she let the drops fall on her tongue for a while, but she eventually crawled over to a puddle that had began to form and drank from there. she sat up and turned around to try and find a bug or something to eat and saw the scarf lying in the mud. she kept it as a remembrance of her family and a reminder that she was never alone. ever since, she's never taken what she has for granted and never puts anything to waste.
