A bright-eyed young woman who is looking to find her place in the world.  She starts off pretty childish, and that aspect of her personality sticks around for quite a bit.  Besides that, Addy is a dreamer, hoping to join the adventurer's guild in search of excitement and glory.  She is an excellent problem solver, and can be very clever, but she doesn't really have a head for book learning.  The loss of one of her parents left her as a rather lonely child, and she can have a hard time making friends no matter how much she wants to- and boy, does she want to.  Her innate cheerfulness and consideration for others can veer into people pleasing just as easily as it can win her genuine connection.  As a result, her insecurity often takes the form of distrusting those around her.

One of Addy's moms (Kara) was lost on an adventuring mission when she was very young, so her other mom (Hazel) often leaves her in the care of Beyo (her blood-brother in law) while she attends to merchant guild business.  This doesn't help with Addy's loneliness, since Beyo lives an island over, but Beyo does his damndest to be the best parental figure he can be for her.

Pretty much everyone has made peace with the fact that Kara is lost forever, or at least tried to.  This includes Addy, though she can't shake the desire to fill in the gaps of the story she's been told.

Addy is a disaster bi- she falls for several people over the course of the story.  One of them is a monster.  One of them is a literal rat girl.  Most of them are older than her in some way, and I love that for her.
