Profile

Kazuki is my character from a Shadowrun campaign based on the Gunnm(Alita: Battle Angel) Universe. He is an elf and a rigger. He builds different drones and hacks into robots like it's no one's business.

Before the fall Kazuki attended a prestigious highschool and was set to graduate top of his class. He was the head of the robotics club and took his studying very seriously. He eventually wanted to become some form of engineer after attending a good college. Kazuki was always interested in internet memes and would make his own with his art skills. Though he wasn't the best artist, he still enjoyed it in his little free time. He lived with his father and three siblings. He was the second oldest and set to inherit the family business.

One day while he was walking his brother, Haru, home from school, he lost sight of his brother and began to search frantically. He finally found him in an alleyway chasing a stray cat. Suddenly, a large man popped out and tried to grab Haru, but Kazuki got in the way and was caught instead. Kazuki told Haru to run home and said that he would "catch up, we are just playing a game." Haru ran away, and the stranger sunk his teeth into Kazuki's neck. A cry of pain shot out, and everything went black.

When he woke, a man and a woman were watching him and he had an obsessive hunger for blood. The man explained to him that he was bit by a strain, and now was one as well. They kept him for 2 months, teaching him the in's and outs of being a stain and sent him back him when he was ready.

Kazuki was in highschool when the "Fall" happened. He lost everyone in his family except for his younger brother, Haruto. Kazuki took care of Haru and raised him on his own for 2 years. As things in the world got worse, Kazuki started to lie to his brother to make things seem better, as he didn't want Haru to be too afraid. When things started to get worse and worse, almost everything that came out of Kazu's mouth was a lie.

One day Kazuki and Haru ran into a man, Ryan, and his daughter Lilly. They offered for Kazuki and Haru to stay the night at their house in a villain of survivors of the fall. Eventually, Kazuki had fallen for Ryan and they raised the two kids together for many years. They hid the fact that Kazuki had the strain from the town as not to scare anyone. Kazuki became the towns mechanic and was well loved by everyone for his humor and intellect.

8 years later tragedy had struck, Lilly had been used as feed for a strain. Ryan, filled with rage, attacked Kazuki and outed him to the entire town as a strain. The town wanted him head, but Haru stepped in and convinced them to only lock him up. Kazuki would spend the next two years in jail, and his mental state declined rapidly. He couldn't speak the truth anymore, and often found himself making jokes and never taking anything seriously.

Eventually, the strain who had killed Lilly freed Kazuki from his jail and revealed that she had infected his brother with the strain. Kazuki, full of anger and not in his right mind killed her. The town apologized for falsely accusing him, but he silently took Haru and left.

One Haru woke, Kazuki explained what happened. He found that he could speak the truth more around Haru, and the two of them began to travel east. Many years later, they ran into a band of those who shared the infection. The leaders were a married couple named Victor and Vilma. The couple had welcomed the brothers with open arms, and they traveled with them for many years. Victor often spoke of "the age of the strain" and the group spent nearly a century hunting humans and trying to survive together.

The group eventually came upon an outpost that was said to house a supercomputer, Merlin, who had predicted the end of the world many years ago. The group was ambushed, and Kazuki, Haru and Vilma were separated from the rest. For day they fled, but eventually the group hunting them caught up to them and they braced for a cold and butter end. A group of humans from the base had witnessed the struggle, and sent them aid in the knick of time. The trio was then brought back to the humans base, where they were befriended and welcomed with open arms. They became part of the community there, and we're still treated as honored guests after revealing they were strain. The humans had finally revived Merlin and he gave a new prophecy about humans going to the stars.

Many years later a great battle happened as the result of Victor getting attacked by the humans. The group had settled under the arch of St. Louis, Vilma had sided with the humans and left them. Victor and her had a huge battle, Kazuki and Haru we're separated in the heat of it all. In an attempt to aid Velma, Haru was struck down, and Kazuki was filled with righteous fury, but before he could do anything the sky opened up and sun rained down on them. Vilma eventually won the battle, but just as everything seemed like it was going to be okay, the ground sank in. Somehow Kazuki survived, unfortunately he never heard from Haru or Vilma again. Eventually Kazuki, due to grief and the trauma of losing his whole family, became burnt out and lost interest in life.

Kazuki started to use his skills to build drones as the world caught up with tech. He sells them to interested parties and uses the profits to build even more. He still lies a lot, though he isn't really good at it and most people can tell it isn't the truth, and became a "pre-fall meme historian" because it reminds him of a time where he was happy. He made his way to Iron City and decided to settle. His plan was to build and sell drones to make a living and see how long he would make it through the years before finally be taken out. One day, he got a call on his phone from a number he didn't recognize, a man named Vector needed people to work for him. Kazuki figured, why not, and went to meet with the man and find out what this was all about.
