Basic Info
Kotori (子禽 Kotori) is a Curse User of unknown grade. While her exact birthday and age are unknown, she has chosen her own date and is approximated to be about 20 years old. Similarly, Kotori is a name she received when she was about 11-12, with no known names/aliases prior to that.
This bio is rather bare! While I have already decided Kotori's story, I would like to reveal it slowly via illustrations over on my Instagram! I will be updating this page periodically to reflect the progress I have made in telling her story.
Personality
Kotori is an eccentric young woman with a warped world view due to her upbringing.
Having had no opportunity to learn about the world and explore it during her childhood year, this has now become her top priority. Having fun and finding out what the world has to offer is her primary drive in anything she does. However, this intense desire to act in only her own interest, coupled with an upbringing that did not see her learning anything of morals, Kotori's current self has no issues endangering and ending lives, especially if they're directly getting in the way of something she wants.
Kotori is surprisingly knowledgeable of ways to toy with the human psyche and is almost entirely immune to manipulation by others. In her own words - "Can you really break a person who has already been broken long ago?"
Despite her nonchalant nature and seeming lack of interest in anything (claiming any of her current alliances can be broken any moment she deems them to be too troublesome), she is unknowingly at least a little attached to the person who gave her the name Kotori.
Jujutsu
Innate Technique
Chain Technique (鎖呪法 Kusari Juhō): The ability to exponentially increase the gravity of the technique’s target. It can be activated on anything that has very recently come into contact with Kotori’s cursed energy - used by her mostly in hitting a target with a weak burst of cursed energy and then immediately activating the technique, but physical contact is not required and activation can also be achieved once the target comes into contact with a projectile of Kotori's cursed energy.
The gravity the affected targets experience is so strong that unless countered with cursed energy or a technique, makes the target unable to stand up if they’re a person and makes any objects immediately fall to the ground. The technique is strong enough to crush less durable objects but not people.
Upon activation of the technique, gold chains appear around the target(s). The chains are made out of cursed energy but appear as regular physical objects. They could be broken by a strong sorcerer like Gojo Satoru but are practically indestructible to anyone else without the use of Black Flash.
Binding Vows
Weight of the Situation: If the total weight of everything currently affected by the technique is more than Kotori’s own weight, she cannot use her technique on anything else until she deactivates it on one of her current targets/brings the current weight of everything affected by her technique back below her own body weight (about 65kg/140 lbs).
When the Binding Vow is broken, the extent of her technique is limited only by Kotori's own cursed energy but it's incredibly quick to take its toll on her and could even lead to her death if used with no regard for her own well-being - this was the reason the Binding Vow was made in the first place.

"I'd say we're even for now. But one day, when you all achieve your goal and don't need our help anymore, I'll be waiting for a rematch. [...] When the time comes, you're gonna have to get rid of me yourself.

Trivia & Notes
- •The first kanji of Kotori's name - 子 (ko), means child or young animal. The second kanji of her name - 禽 (tori), can mean bird, but also captive, capture. Thus, her name can be interpreted to mean "baby bird" or "captive child". Additionally, her name is a play on the word 虜 (toriko), meaning captive, prisoner.
- •While she was never given a name as a child, her family name is supposed to be Kusaru (種流, 種 - kusa - cause, seed, origin, but pronounced the same as 腐 - rot, decay; 流 - ru - exile; saru is also pronounced the same as the word 猿, meaning monkey). This name is known to those who took her in and named her Kotori, but nobody has ever told her about it, since it's not really important.
- •Until the age of about 11-12, she could neither read, nor write, and could barely speak Japanese, rather mumbling memorized phrases. Even now, her language skills are far from perfect, especially for her age, but she can manage just fine in a conversation, unless complicated words are brought up. The first thing she ever learned to write was her own name.
- •Her main theme song is "We're Still Underground" by E ve but she also has a few other very fitting songs - "Shoujo Fuzei" by mikitoP (specifically JubyPhonic's cover), "Bitter Choco Decoration" by syudou (specifically rachie's cover), and "Vogel im Käfig" by Hiroyuki Sawano ft. Cyua.
- •Kotori can be symbolized by a goldfinch.
