[ ship name ], also known as KohaNoka, is the pairing between Kohaku Kitsune and Honoka Hitoyo.

History

Kohaku and Honoka have known each other since they were kids. Always running around on adventures throughout Tōrōgakure and having all sorts of fun together. They were often seen playing together in their youth and always joking around when they got older. Whenever Honoka was down about something, Kohaku would do whatever he could to make her smile. After a while, he started to become more awkward around her, though it's mostly because he started to actually notice the girls around him. He always thought Honoka was really pretty and trying to talk to her just became awkward for him sometimes. Though Honoka always found a way to make him feel like himself again and before long, things were back to normal... until the next encounter.

After Kohaku's father passed away, he started to be a little more reclusive, but not towards Honoka. When his little brother, Hisui, died however, Kohaku felt wrecked. After trying to find different ways to cheer him up, Honoka began to worry about him. She found him at the village's graveyard, talking to both his brother and father's headstones. She wasn't sure what to do until Haruki, Kohaku's kitsune partner, mentioned doing something to make him feel better. So Honoka thought about it for a few days and finally came up with an idea. With Haruki's help, she managed to take Kohaku to all his favorite places in the village. She also helped him draw some of his favorite creatures he liked to draw whenever he was painting on some of the walls around the village. As well as taking a trip to visit his brother and father in the village's graveyard. However, she felt a little sad that he didn't seem to cheer up from it.

A couple days passed before Honoka saw Kohaku again. This time, he seemed a little more like himself again. He wasn't as excited as he usually was, but he was smiling! So she counted it as a success. Kohaku thanked her for trying to help him out and they spent the day going on adventures like they used to as kids. Before the day was over, Kohaku had asked her out on another date. Since their first date was about cheering him up, he wanted to show how thankful he was to have a great friend like Honoka around. They started to go out shortly after and Kohaku spends every moment he can telling just about anyone how lucky he is to be dating his best friend.

Relationship

Kohaku and Honoka are first and foremost, best friends. They always confide in each other about whatever's going on and are always seen doing something goofy together. They love being around each other. Whether they're adventuring through the village, going on a date, or just spending time with one another it doesn't really matter to them. As long as they're around the other, they don't really care what's going on around them. The two are usually doing whatever they can to laugh, wanting to be as happy and jubilant as they can be.

Although he still stutters sometimes, Kohaku has gotten better at not being too shy or nervous around Honoka anymore. Which he's glad about because he's willing to stand on the rooftops to tell the world how much he loves Honoka. He considers himself to be very lucky and tries his best to not take it for granted. He can't wait to one day give her a jade bracelet, but until then he's content to wait for the right moment.

• Haruki is also very much a member of their merriment as well. Much to his displeasure, he's usually being hugged by Honoka but he does warm up to her.
