Hachiro

When Hanako first met Hachiro, she assumed he must be a furry—until she grabbed one of his ears, and quickly found out he wasn't just some weird human guy who liked to dress up as an animal, but a weird monster. Hachiro is a lone wolf in the most literal sense. He belongs to no pack, or "clan" as his species calls it, and has been a self-sufficient wanderer for as long as he can remember. Despite growing up in isolation, he's perky, clownish, and has boundless energy. Most of the time, Hachiro acts more like a puppy trapped in a humanoid body instead of an actual wolf, but he does have a ferocious side. His worst fear is having to suffer through the rest of his life completely alone, so as a result, he's extremely clingy and affectionate.

Hachiro is the most animalistic and seemingly simple-minded member of the "main four", and tends to let his id influence his decisions. He makes no attempt to temper his demands for food, attention, or "snuggles" with Hanako. However, he's much smarter than he lets on, and is capable of picking up on someone's strengths, weaknesses, opinions, etc. within a few days or even hours of meeting them. He's also quite adept at thinking up unorthodox ways of solving problems, and is capable of using his boyish charm when it's needed.

The main barrier that prevents Hachiro from being taken seriously is that he struggles with speech. Werewolves primarily use their keen sense of smell, along with barks, growls, and similar noises, to communicate with each other. Speaking a human language is difficult for him, as it's a skill that he's barely used at all for the majority of his life.  

He doesn't get along with Linos, due to their vastly different temperaments. The fact that Hachiro likes to nibble on Linos' feathers probably doesn't help, either. Him and Kazuo aren't usually combative with each other, but Kazuo has a habit (accidentally or not, who knows) of acting condescendingly towards Hachiro and pushing his buttons. Hachiro's closest with Shen, partly due to their species' mutual relationship and also because of their complementary personalities. Shen tends to take on the role of Hachiro's "keeper", but isn't completely above encouraging Hachiro's zanier moods...

Movies are one of Hachiro's favorite things, and he often tries to emulate characters from action movies and shonen anime. He loves comedies most of all. He also enjoys hunting, exploring the forest near Hanako's apartment, and making mischief.

In the days before a full moon, Hachiro—like all werewolves—undergoes some significant, albeit temporary changes. His hair becomes thicker, more similar to a wolf's fur, and his voice gets deeper. He's more prone to aggression, slightly more emotional, and craves rich, fatty meat. Of course, this culminates in Hachiro morphing into a full-bodied wolf. He remains in this form, unable to speak at all, for two days at the least and a week at most. Afterwards, he changes back into his humanoid form; although his telltale ears and tail never disappear.

Hachiro's right eye is dark brown, while his left is a crystal blue. He has thick patches of body hair on his arms, legs, chest, tummy, etc. and grows quite a bit of facial hair during his "time of the month". While he seems quite imposing in both stature and weight, he's actually small for a werewolf. His body temperature is slightly higher than that of a human's, and he emanates heat—pleasant in the winter, not so much in the summer. His ears and tail are the same color as the hair on his head, a light bronze-yellow. Some of his stranger physical traits, besides his ears and tail, are his oddly built legs, his six nipples, and the pair of wooly caterpillars stuck above his eyes...
