A Spinx who never quite seems to ever be satisfied, he is on an endless search for arcane knowledge and the magic withheld from him wrongfully (in his eyes). In secret he has crafted, toiled over and slaved over tomes and scrolls to perfect and master the magic of the moon and stars, crafting devices so that even a spinx could wield what they have been denied for generations (they are still prototypes). However his efforts were not looked highly upon by the gods who in turn placed a curse on him, corrupting the inside of him with the very same element he has tried to use and control. He was driven to madness and even after having been punished by those he would spit at, he continues to research.

Ever since Alois was a young Spinx, he was always fascinated with the idea of magic. He had heard tales of the Gods and their distain for his kind, forbidding their use of magic while other species were able to wield it with ease. He has spent most of his life learning the skills necessary to be able to wield such a forbidden art and even developing intricate gauntlets and necklace to try and harness what he could of the world's natural magic. He was and still is especially fascinated with the magic associated with the moon and stars, high above his head, unreachable but seemingly so powerful in myth and legends. His pursuits have left him mad and craving magic even more, theres nothing left to stop him, may the gods tremble before his madness and pursuit of power.

Childhood

Alois like most was born to kind and average parents, they loved him and gave all they could give to make him happy, but nothing ever seemed enough, he felt a sense of emptiness that couldn't be filled with materialistic things. He craved knowledge, nothing gave him more joy than learning new things and figuring things out. At first, other young spinxs found him to be odd but over the years, Alois realized that if he was going to learn all he could, he needed others around him. He didn't actually enjoy the company of others, most Spinx weren't even close to his level of intellect, he only found a sense of normal companionship with those who had some smarts, knew more than the idiotic crowd of other young spinxs. He began to put on a more charismatic persona around the common folk and manipulated them to his will, gaining what he could and throwing away those who were no longer useful to his pursuits. His parents were rather concerned at the kind of spinx their son was turning out to be. To their dismay, their son only grew more confident and arrogant, wielding his knowledge like a great weapon. Growing up, Alois had a small circle of friends who could tolerate him, they were smarter than their peers but they still had humility and decency, unlike Alois. As they all grew, they drifted away from him as they saw that he started to regard them as useless and having been used up like all the others, they couldn't get through to him with friendship and thus left him. As he was getting ready to become a grown spinx, he realized his pursuit of knowledge wouldn't be as fulfilling if he stuck to the safe topics of knowledge, he needed to seek out the knowledge of which was considered forbidden and taboo, the art of magic. He read as much as he could into the lore of the world and the reasons why Spinx were the only species who were unable to wield and harness actual magic, the magic beyond the lame lifting small objects and opening doors, what he wanted was control over natural magic, more extreme magic. He detested the gods and their foolishness, how pity and childish must you be to strip magic from an entire species for the mistake of one who didn't understand the weight of their actions. He wasn't going to let some old dusty gods who couldn't even let go of something so minor stop him, he would not let anyone get in his way.
