A long, long time ago, a man captured and studied Wormlings and half-formed CCCats and Crooks, taking them apart, putting them in boxes and watching as they writhed and decayed, forcing them upon hosts they did not desire - what any good scientist would do, the man supposed. The Gods disagreed, but had no power over humankind. Everything made a decision: they would bestow upon a little wormling a single thought - to find and kill this person. Without breaking the truce, of course. They wagered upon how the little thing would react, how it would evolve and change with this simple, yet powerful thought.

And so, the little wormling took it upon itself to find the perfect host for its purpose. Despite not having any true blessings from Everything and Nothing, the parasite survived and found a host, twisting its flesh into a weapon. And, despite not having been Touched, it believed itself the hand of the Divine, and destroyed the poor wretch who had attracted the attention of Ev and No, if even for a moment.

While the spectacle was quite entertaining, the monster they had created was far too blunt a weapon. After barely a few days, they stopped giving targets to the beast, and quickly forgot about its very existence, though it had not forgotten about them.

Faux still believes itself to be a godly weapon, and, as it always has, believes to be the embodiment of divine retribution. While this makes it quite simple to manipulate if one were aware of this, it also means it will do what it believes to be just when it truly matters, if it can see past what it is simply told by whoever approaches it with promises of prey and pay.
