Barky grew up in a massive family, with relatives both in the southern United States (namely Louisiana) and Mexico. She traveled back and forth frequently as a child, her family were always known as not only being warm and welcoming but also for being great cooks. Barky moved out and took over the family business from her uncle and father several years ago, but she still keeps in touch with her folks.
