Hurricane

The latest superhero in the city of Fort North, Hurricane is technically two people: depressed college dropout Gabriel "Gabe" Ferris, and the wild, stormy nature spirit that possessed him one fateful day.  Possession by a spirit is considered a potential superpowered threat as the spirit vies for control, but Gabe obtains a mentor figure in the city's current biggest superhero, Neo-Noir.  Noir's knowledge of nature spirits helps Gabe maintain focus, and hey, being broke and unemployed makes you open to trying out anything for a job, so now "Hurricane" is Noir's new protege.

Being possessed isn't something that's resolved overnight; a lot of their early escapades just result in internal mental conflict between Gabe and the spirit, causing them to freeze up mid-fight.  Even when they're in sync, their personalities start blending together in ways that make the concept of "identity" start to break down.  However, their relationship has mutual benefits--Gabe gets to try out a job that some folks can only dream of, and the spirit gets out all their magical impulses on people that probably deserve it.  Plus, maybe together they can figure out who exactly brought the spirit into the physical plane?  Such a summoning takes an incredible amount of power to pull off.  Something nefarious may be afoot in their city...

When Gabe brings forth the spirit's weather-manipulating powers, his appearance shifts to match.  This makes for a solid secret identity, but those well-versed in spirits, much like Noir, will be able to recognize the signs of possession.  So while the two of them might be breaking new ground by collaborating as a human/spirit duo, they might also catch the attention of intrigued supervillains along the way.  IS NOTHING EASY???
