Profile
Eclipse is a pure white pelted she-cat. She has a tall and skinnny figure with bright purple eyes that complement the white. Her fur on the other hand is very lumpy and poofy, though still somehow manages to keep its smooth and soft texture. Another contrast to her white fur is her pink nose and ears! In between her eyes is a long, white horn that holds powerful magic.
Despite her regal apperance, or at least what others call regal, her manner does not convey the same. You can usually find her stuggling with her own magic or just very awkward. You can almost always see her with a nervous smile or a saddened frown.
Eclipse is a very strong cat with a wide range of powers, though her attitude doesn’t match much with it. Eclipse is a very self-aware and timid cat, though when she gets to know someone, she shows them who she really is. Outside her shell, she’s a especially passionate and curious cat who loves to talk about her interests.
She’s pretty sympathetic, that being her weakness as she’ll sympathize with anyone, even someone who’s trying to kill her. Alongside this, she gets really flustered and anxious very easily due to the immense pressure her family puts on her to succeed in life. It doesn't help that she doesn't have a good control of her powers either...
- NOMENCLATURE
- Name — She was born during a eclipse, granting her name.
- She had 3 other siblings, all toms, who died at birth. It seemed their life force had been drained from them.
- Her father is so hard on his daughter cause she wants her to make up for his sons deaths. He always secretly blamed her for what happened.
- Eclipse's favorite magic to use is healing and other complex spells.
- She is very tall for a apprentice as she's a "purebred" unicorn. She also has very strong magic due to this.
- She has light colored splotchy paws, not because she was born with them, she burned her paws from practicing magic.
- It is a known fact that Bright is not the forgiving mentor, or father for that matter. And unluckily for Eclipse, she is both his daughter and his squire. Needless to say, he was anything but kind to her when she trained under him. Beacuse of her magic, he would be especially harsh on her, wanting her to use her magic for destruction, something she didn't want. During one of these sessions, she had been forced to practice fire magic and while trying to control the flames, it bursted and she caught the floor beneath her on fire, burning her paws. She wasn't allowed to train for a few weeks as her paws healed, Bright being disappointed in her as usual.
- Her neck gets very fluffy when scared due to all the fur basically piled up there.
- She has slightly smaller ears than average.
Eclipse was born into The Ethereals during a eclipse. She was the only surviving kit out of her litter and the strongest. She was born a Pure Kin, something the colonies has not seen in many moons. Pure Kins are said to have the power of the Gods in their paws, while others say it's a birth defect where one of the kits in the wombs absorbs the life force of its siblings.
Growing up, Eclipse was not around her parents at all. They were horrible parents and only used her as a sort of 'trophy'. Her caretaker, and practically her mother, was Ecstasy. She taught Eclipse empathy and knowledge, everything her real parents never taught her. The only other cat who really talked to was King, a older apprentice who would play with her and teach her battle moves. His warrior ceremony had been postponed so many times because he was a 'rebel' like Bright would say. He would become like her older brother.
When Eclipse finally reached 6 moons, she was granted two mentors, Bright and Ecstasy. Bright was to teach her magic to use for fighting while Ecstasy taught her healing and moon magic. Ecstasy was a very soft and gentle mentor, even when taking over for Bright. She wouldn't ever push her or make her do something she didn't want to do. However, Bright was very violent and controlling, Eclipse often coming back injured from her lessons. Ecstasy and Bright would often fight over Eclipse, Bright feeling as if she were too soft and Ecstasy arguing that she was just a kid.
Eclipse would develop PTSD over using her magic, the only magic that didn't scare her being the ones Ecstasy taught her. King and Yvonne would hang out with her often to try to ease her stress, but it never really worked. They even tried to get her sister, Harper, to talk to her, but they never really connected, not like they ever did anyway.
Ecstasy would start to tell stories of The Seven, stories that were long forgotten at this point. She wished that it'd help her find a little hope in her life that things would be alright. Eclipse was really interested in it and would spend a lot of her time trying to figure out more about these past Gods.
I'll keep this short as to not spoil the story!
Eclipse is now on full alert, looking for anything on the Gods. She starts with her own territory of couse, using excuses like looking for prey or checking the borders. The only thing she'd found out was that something happened bad almost 100 years ago and that one of their ancestors was named Blazing Moon.
She figured she'd find more on the other territories, so she went to Ecstasy to ask her, but she said no, that it was too dangerous. Eclipse, being the stubborn way she was, escaped at night to The Drifter's territory. There, she would run into a squire named Braveheart. Strangely enough, he wasn't very aggressive to her, which was weird since The Ethereals weren't allies anymore.
The two would become friends pretty quickly, Braveheart following her around and listening to her ramble about The Seven. Upon hearing about her mission, he agreed to help her immediately. Eclipse would go on to meet two other cats who would help her, Inferno and Fright.
Little did they know, they'd be getting themselves into something way bigger than them.
Best Friend
"I think he's really cool! He so kind and courageous despite how others treat him. Oh when I get my paws on those cats..."
Eclipse and Braveheart are very very close friends, being able to relate on many different things. Life, interests, among other things. The two are the type of friends that would never keep secret from each other and sacrifice themselves for one another.
Crush
"Inferno you say? I admire her, she's exactly the type of cat I wanna be. Confident, brave, strong, not afraid to speak her mind... She's not here, right?"
Inferno is a friend of Eclipse, a Blazen friend. The two are very close to one another and often tell each other stories of the past. Eclipse is very fond of her, but is shy about her feelings and has a hard time telling her how she feels.
Friend
"They're a really nice cat, I love to listen to all of their stories and all the things they teach me. They remind me a lot of myself actually, it's like looking in a mirror."
Fight is a friend of Eclipse, though they're the type to get in fights and then bond over them. Eclipse will sometimes, not often, get frustrated with him because of her own insecurities, but she always makes sure to apologize immediately.
