Kalliope

Kalliope is the name given to this remnant of a clan of ancient, more primal harpies that were mostly wiped out by a dragon. These harpies were no less civilized than others of their kind, but they preferred to avoid settlements of humans and instead made their home deep in the wilderness. She is rather monstrous in appearance in comparison to her comrades, and she has difficulty speaking in the common tongue and grasping concepts that may seem simple to many. Kalliope is not stupid, however--she just wasn’t raised to know about these things.

Her true name is impossible to translate to the common tongue, as it is made up of a series of clicks and growls. Kalliope is simply the nickname that Dr. Maddock has given her. She seems to like it well enough, though.

Though she has no formal training, Kalliope is a skilled and powerful mage with Light magic gifted by the spirit Grivhene. She is devoutly religious and believes strongly in the gods of Vakkaven, and she was considered a prophet by her people before their destruction. As a Light mage, she does possess the power of divination, though her visions are often uncertain and murky.
