Personality n stuff: 

For most of his life he has been too busy taking care of his own issues to deal with others' problems. So he may come off as selfish as he has learned to prioritize himself over others, but in recent years he has begun to break some of his more selfish habits. He is a free loader and slob as he is transient he cares little for his environment or others' opinions of him. He doesn't care about strangers much either; mostly because he lacked deep connections as a child and this lack continued throughout most of his life. There aren't many people he would risk himself to protect, it boils down only a handful.

If you pester him he will retaliate with petty insults and other foul language. He will also pull off pranks and various gags to those who regularly irk him or let him get away with such tomfoolery. The longer he is continuously irritated the more obxnoxious and frustrated he will become until he eventually storms off in a foul mood. On a bad day he becomes cranky and hostile. He comes off as cold and will brush off other's concern: holing himself up and away from others to sulk. On a good day he will be talkative and attentive. His extroverted side will shine through. He can be a party animal if put in an environment he feels safe in and with people he trusts. He has plenty of moments of strong "gremlin energy". The amount of which varies depending on the situation he is in. His positive side began to show itself more when he started living with Nadia and Loki. He is not very intelligent, probably resting around average. He is not so stupid as to be guilible and easily taken advantage of but he is also not smart enough to hold deep conversations on complex topics. Simply put, he is a teenager.

He's not an outright coward but he will not hesitate to run away from a situation that disadvantages him. He is confident with his powers which sometimes leads to him overstepping boundaries and getting into more trouble than he bargined for. Sometimes he may even start fights without realizing he is at a disadvantage. His lifestyle and environment also contribute to his trouble-making. He is not one to jump into action or to help others on a whim without reward. He only helps others if they are exceptionally close to him such as Nadia. He is more inclined to save a dog being kicked by a group of kids than a child being bullied by the same group of kids. He will let a plethora of crimes be committed in front him without complaint so long as they are not so egregious as to put someone's life in danger. He just focuses on getting through each day on his own with little thought for future prospects.

He was born unlucky, being a half-demon without any parents. So he is pessimistic and even nihilistic at times, when he isn't distracting himself. Much of the goofy and idiotic side of his persoanlity may come as a form of coping mechanism to cover up this side of himself through acting this way. His hard life has made him strong though; so he can be put through harsh situations and make it through with little lasting damage.

A trouble-making, independent, and self-isolating personality with sparks of chaotic extroversion. He is generally introverted and cautious but is willing to engage others if given the right circumstances. I usually portray him either being a complete doof and gremlin or being angsty and edgy without showing the inbetween as both sides of his personality can be quite strong under certain circumstances.

Background/Story:

Jun is the bastard child of a demon and a prostitute. Both of his biological parents abandoned him as an infant child on the streets. He was somewhat of an accident and his mother didn't have the means or desire to deal with the responsibility of caring for a child. His father saw him as a burden and convenient tool to use to be rid of something undesirable; so he ditched him as soon as possible. He was raised by various delinquent individuals over the years; most of them other demon-kin. Usually these individuals only took him in to use for their own purposes such as using him in scams and other petty manipulative jobs. He left his last "foster" parent around the age of 14 and began living on his own permanently. He picked up various habits and techniques from his time living with criminals and uses them to get by in life. Even though he would take various jobs relating to crime and commits many petty crimes such as pick-pocketing or shoplifting; he does not identify himself as a criminal. He lived on his own. Squatting from apartment to apartment before he was evicted or caught red-handed. He would stay in a place for a few weeks or months depending on the situation. Because of his childhood and lifestyle he knows many underground demi-human hangouts and markets. He often picks up small jobs from these places; whether it be an assignment to steal something or to go rough somebody up. One of these jobs ended up getting him into some serious trouble.

On this job he was tasked with breaking into a building in order to steal important documents but what he did not know was that it was a setup arranged by exorcists. This setup led him to later on be is rescued by an angel name Nadia from an anti-demon organization affiliated with the Church that was going to use him in experimentation. Nadia offers to let him live at her place and so he begins to live there permanently. The apartment Nadia lives in is right above a bar run by the demon Loki and together Nadia and Loki become a distorted form of parental figures for Jun when he's around. Jun sometimes works at Loki's bar but because of his lack of professionalism and general disregard towards work Loki ends up kicking him off employment after a week. Jun doesn't really care though, he just loiters about the bar on some nights. 

(WIP draft) > After a few months of growing used to his new life with Nadia and Loki everything is seemingly turned upside-down when someone previously absent in Jun's life needs something from him, something that requires Jun to die. Jun's father, as mentioned in the section on his mask, abandoned Jun with his cursed mask in order to get rid of it as it's curse was slowly killing him at the time. He had used the mask to gain power and status amongst demons and the underworld but as soon as it was a burden to him he tossed it aside. By giving leaving it with Jun in an attempt to severe the connection to the mask, he lost his position as it's primary host and hence the mask never came to him or responded to him once he left. But now he needed it as his abilties/power were waning due to many factors but one of them being residual cursed energy from his time as the mask's posessor. The only way for him to become the primary host of the mask again was to kill his son, Jun, so that it may return to him and so that he could maintain his status. As Jun never met his father and knew nothing of the mask's origin he did not know that his father was plotting his death.

Jun's father hired a hitman/mercenary named Hyde. Hyde is well known amongst the underside of the demonkin community as someone who will take any job with no questions regardless of whose paying, and someone who rarely ever fails a job. This reputation caught the eye of Jun's father, who trusted that Hyde would get the job done quickly and cleanly. Hyde tracked down Jun and on a hot summer evening whilst Jun was minding his own business and walking down the street not too far behind Loki, Hyde ambushed them. He simply just walked up to Jun and shot him in the chest, but before he could fire a second bullet into Jun's head to guarantee no survival Loki jumped in and stopped Hyde. They scuffled and Hyde ran off as he was certain the first shot was fatal. But it was not. Loki took Jun to one of the best underground doctors, as he thought Hyde would search local hosptials to make sure Jun was really dead. Jun survived and when Hyde reported he had killed him Jun's father knew he had failed as the mask did not return to him. Jun's father was furious, he demanded Hyde finish the job or else he would have Hyde killed. Hyde knew that Jun's father had the power to do so and with his life and reputation on the line he began to hunt down Jun. Eventually after a couple of months Hyde managed to find Jun once again by tracking down Loki (as Jun had been in hiding because of the attempt on his life) as he remembered Loki from the first attempt. The end result of this was Jun having to use his beast form to fight against Hyde's own beast form, and after a grueling and bloody fight Jun managed to survive and chase off Hyde. Hyde decided that the job was not worth it and went into hiding for quite some time, Jun's father failed to find Hyde and plotted to take the mask from Jun himself. <

Other:

Jun is absolutely obsessed with pepsi, if it wasn't clear already. He will drink several cans a day, if he runs out he will get cranky and irritable, and if he doesn't have pepsi for more than a few days he will quite literally rob a store or steal a vending machine for it. Giving him a nice cold can of pepsi will always cheer him up. Jun is on the shorter end, at about 157cm (5'2").  Jun is trans and transitioned with HRT before puberty so he never needed top surgery.

Jun can summon a black lightning (with a blue glow/outline) that he can use as a weapon or tool when needed. He can only control this ability accurately when he has his mask on his person; his ability is mostly focused around his arms and hands, he can either use it loosely like a whip or charge it up/concentrate it in order to fire it in a stronger blast. He mainly uses this ability in any serious capacity for self defense; but sometimes he may use small harmless amount to pester people that irritate him by shocking them, to short out electronics, or to show off.  He can be hurt by his own powers, if he overcharges them (uses them at a high energy level for an extended period of time) he can burn himself out like a lightbulb or otherwise injure himself. He needs to recharge his powers if he uses them extensively. He has very little control of his powers without his mask; if he does not have his mask on his person he will not use his powers, at least not willingly. Without his mask his powers can be extremely weak or very powerful. It is hard for him to tap into his powers without the mask, and if he does he would most likely lose control and hurt himself. His mask is a demonic artifact he has carried since childhood, he does not know where it came from but you can find some of it's origins explained below. His powers are strongest and most refined when he has his mask on fully (covering his entire face). If he uses this mask for a prolonged period of time without taking it off or if he overextends/overcharges his powers it may have disastrous consequences.

If he overextends/uses his powers too much he will lose control and turn into a beastly demon-like monster temporarily, fusing with his mask. He will also transform under extreme stress and (rarely) at random when his mask acts up. This can also occur when he is electrocuted with enough voltage, but if he is not wearing his mask when he is electrocuted he may sustain injury or even die instead. He has a partial form where he remains cognizant as well, I go more in-depth on the beast forms tab.

Mask: 

The mask is parasitic. It has some kind of connection to him (both psychological or physiologically).  The longer he wears the mask the more dependent on it he becomes. If Jun does not wear his mask for more than a couple of days he will begin having withdrawal symptoms; usually consisting of seizures, fever-like symptoms, hallucinations, and his power becoming very erratic in a way that dangerously affects his health. Jun has had this mask since childhood, so he has never been without it for long. The mask can be broken but it cannot be permanently destroyed, if all of its parts are put in close enough proximity it will regenerate itself. If the parts are too far apart It regenerates from the largest part and the broken parts that are disconnected from the main portion will turn to dust. This is why the mask never has cracks or blemishes. 

His mask is a demonic artifact that was created over two thousand years ago by a very powerful demon in Gehenna. The mask was bonded to the demon's bloodline and was a powerful demonic artifact used as a weapon and passed down through the generations to the eldest son or daughter of each generation.  At some point the mask's power was corrupted, leaving it in its current state. It became a permanent curse on the bloodline and became parasitic. It would stalk its host until death unless the host managed to give it to one of their children. Jun's father was part of this bloodline and his father abandoned him in hopes of being rid of the mask, which may be the only reason Jun was born. Since Jun is only half-demon the mask's power is not as strong as it typical would be and his father may  have thought this would sever the connection. Jun may be one of the last survivors in this demonic bloodline outside of his father, but it is not known for certain. Jun knows nothing of the mask's origins or his family. 

While at times it may seem like it, the mask is in no way sapient. The mask does have "intent" caused by it's cursed and that is to remain in contact with the user/host until death by any means necessary, hence the withdrawal symptoms and why it may latch onto the host's face when the host resists it while using their powers. When the mask is stuck/fused to the host's face it can only be removed if the user is killed, knocked unconscious or transforms into a beast (not all users can do this). The mask causes Jun to have nightmares after a few hours of sleep, so he often wakes up and wears it for a few minutes before returning to sleep to get rid of these nightmares.

Jun has had the mask since he was an infant as explained previously. He kept the mask as he thought it could lead him to clues about his family at first, but he gave up after a few years. He continued to hold onto it but he was unable to wear it until he was about 11 or 12 because it simply didn't fit him. He would carry it either strapped to his side or back before this point. At around the age of 10 his powers began to surface, he was not afraid of them or confused by them because his childhood had him interacting with plenty of half-demons that also had powers (although usually too weak to be of any note). When his powers got strong enough it essentially "woke up" the mask and it slowly began to tempt him to wear it, and he did so at age 12. At first the mask had no negative side effects so he would abuse his powers thinking he was safe. But over time, about a year, it's negative effects grew stronger and stronger until one night (around age 13/14) he thought about getting rid of it but instead it latched onto his face and he could not remove it. He tried to remove it by using his powers which only backfired even further because when he managed to rip it off it "exploded" with his powers and left a nasty scar on his right side, it also changed his eye color to black and white unlike his previously matching red eyes. After this, he tried to throw the mask away and stop using it but it was too late and its parasitic withdrawal affected him.  He was unable to bare the pain so he continues to use it to this day. This wound/scar may have only furthered the parasitic connection.

Every time he uses his mask at full power he risks triggering one of his beast forms. He has managed to gauge when this may occur and will remove the mask immediately when he senses his limit or he will push forward to turn into his partial form. Sometimes if he wants to remove the mask deliberately because he senses its parasitic nature (he is usually oblivious to it siphoning his powers) it will not come off and  may even fight back by forcing itself onto him (aka it will cover his  whole face and if Jun tries to take it off it may shock him by  overloading him with any stored power within it).

The mask helps Jun to control his powers effortlessly when he is wearing it by siphoning off any access energy he creates up to a certain point and then returning that energy when he is at a low point (to make up for what he lacks). If he did not have his mask during these points of high and low energy then he would either overload himself or be powerless temporarily. His mask can only absorb so much energy from Jun so if he is overcharged above the mask's limits it will trigger his transformation into the first beast form (bipedal) and if he does it while under a lot of pressure/stress/peril then he will transform into his final beast form.  The mask is not without some benefits, as it does allow him to easily control his powers when using it and it also boosts his senses (hearing, sight, and smell) when it is fully equipped (covering his whole face). It also boosts his physical strength mildly.

Jun does not remove his mask from his person with the only exceptions being when he is sleeping, bathing/showering, getting dressed or undressed, is cleaning it, or if someone has take it off of him through force or when he is unconscious.  If he removes the mask for longer than a few hours he will begin to experience withdrawal. Milder symptoms include auditory hallucinations, excessive sweating, chills, and a racing heart while in the final stages it can cause seizures, migraines, and extreme pain. Some of the auditory hallucinations include the sound of rumbling like an waterfall or stampede, indecipherable voices, and the sound of footsteps. This is why he doesn't just get rid of the mask. That and if he tries to throw it away, after a certain distance it will reappear next to him like teleportation. This range varies but can be anywhere from 1 mile (1.6km) to 10 miles (16km). It will teleport to him if he begins to leave this range.

Random info:

•  - The right side of his face is almost never seen (obscured by mask or shadows), his right eye is black and white and there is a significant scar over it. This scar sometimes turns into a bright blue when he transforms into a beast. Explanation for it can be found in the info about the mask.
•  - He has a prehensile tail, he can use it for basic things like holding simple objects, pushing buttons, etc. He hates it when anyone touches his tail.
•  - He has sharp nails that are naturally black, like a smaller version of a demon's.
•  - Jun cannot swim.
•  - Jun has an irrational fear of thunder.
•  - Jun is half-asian (Korean).
•  - He is a kleptomaniac. He will pick pocket, shop lift, and just steal anything he can get his hands on.
•  - Jun eats a lot of junk food, he doesn't cook. He relies on quick and easy microwave meals and stuff like that if he isn't swiping it from others.
•  - Jun loves spicy food and his favorite sweets are very sour or fruit flavored (think sour patch kids and fruit hard candy). He hates eating vegetables or really just anything healthy... unless... Nadia cooks it!
•  - He only showers once a week, except when Nadia or Loki force him to.
•  - He got his ears pierced when he accidentally shot himself with a gun like an idiot.
•  - He would be a fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
•  - Immune to edibles.
•  - Whenever you pet his hair it'll give you a little static shock.
