The upbeat, compassionate Maurício is the manager of the Prism Mall shopping center, and it falls on his shoulders to make sure every store is up to date on their bills, inspections and guarantee the well-being of their staff. The youngest member of the associates board is a big hearted, bigger bodied business man that happens to be a huge movie buff - collecting exclusive blu-rays, traveling to festivals, writing personal essays and all the nerd pack. Maurício's life was changed by a heart disease that almost ended it for good, making him more susceptible to heart failure... But his health has improved greatly after meeting the love of his life: a young man named Eduardo that, besides being half his age, sparked on this sickly big heart of his the desire to care and tend for someone special.

- Maurício and his family have humble beginnings. He spent most of his youth living in a poor neighborhood, but then his father became a federal worker and their lives got increasingly better - and so many years later, thanks to the education they provided for his son, now Maurício returns the favor by emotionally supporting his parents after their retirement, often paying visits to them at the Suburbs even though he lives at a nice apartment by the beachfront.
- Maurício has a large collection of polo shirts: solid colors, patterned, polkadots, you name it. His favorite ones are a solid baby pink, and a lime green with white stripes.
- It's difficult for Maurício to rank or suggest his favorite movie experiences but, since he's been alone for so many of them, it's fair to say the best movies he watched were the ones he shared in good company - specially Eduardo's.
Husband
Maurício met Eduardo at a movie con held on Prism Mall, and had they not met each other sooner that might have been too late for both of them... They were both at a very low point of their lives - for Maurício, there had been a couple months after his heart failure and he was still adapting to a new lifestyle, which had been proving quite difficult. Eduardo was a sweet but feisty young man, and his childlike wonder lens brought back the light to Maurício's life. After many bumps on their road, they decided to stick together and get married, living on Mau Mau's apartment at the beachfront.
Coworker
Maurício used to stop by the Prism Mall Emporium to visit his favorite buddy Yurichiel, and was more than thrilled to see the little guy climb the corporate ladder and land a job at the mall HR. Their personalities match in a very strange way, as Yurichi's snarky and tired remarks bounce off pretty well against Maurício's peppy upbeatness. They gossip and have breakfast together, and Maurício even helped Yurichi get his little brother Ezechiel employed at the mall - and the big guy knows Yurichi dreads the day he will come to him and ask for a favor to pay out this "debt".
Distant friends
Maurício’s a friend of Sandro’s father, Messias, so he knew the boy since he was a baby. He had no idea Sandro had the hots for him since a short while ago, so even though they got along surprisingly well, in order to respect his life-long friend, Maurício tries to keep some distance and now they aren't as close as they used to. Sandro nourishes a deep respect and admiration for Maurício, but that doesn’t keep him from provoking and teasing his uncle Mau Mau as a reminder of "what could have been"...
