THE FORBIDDEN MAGIC CORE

The Exquisite Seekers have been searching for a certain magical gem that had its tales spread all around Gaiatine for years, maybe even decades. The goal was to retrieve it, then study its power before exploiting it. One lucky gal had managed to snatch it from an ancient relic, which almost caused her death. Fortunately, said core managed to get in the hands of a magical engineer who spent the remaining years of his life studying all of its properties.

Unfortunately for him, a group of thieves somehow managed to infiltrate his base, and in an attempt to keep the magical gem from being taken away from him, the engineer placed the gem inside an incomplete android, then hid all of his writings inside of its body. It didn’t take long before the man was killed in the hands of the thieves, who never found the core. In fact, they were also found dead.

NOT KNOWING WHERE SHE IS

The engineer’s will managed to power up the android he was working on, even if it was incomplete. The android found herself in front of a group of thieves who had just taken away a life. Looking at humanity’s unfairness, she used her innate strength to fight the thieves…and accidentally killed a few of them. The rest had managed to escape.

With no one explaining her purpose or telling her what to do, the android explored the area she found herself in. All she could find was a disorganized folder with the name “Caulifla” on it. Inside of it was a lot of information about her, as well as a picture of a little girl. The android was unsure of how to process this information, but stored it as best as she could, then tried exploring the area around her.

Before leaving the lab she was born in, the android noticed a vial, as well as a picture of a man with white hair. He clearly seemed to have been corrupted with some sort of plant disease, as he was covered in vines, thorns & branches. And, the android thoroughly scanned through that information as well.

BEING CHASED OVER AND OVER

While exploring, she noticed a lot of people who would purposely try to take her down, and it wasn’t surprising for Caulifla to try to escape her potential demise. She could not remember how many times she had visited each village, but it was definitely over 10 times each, which isn’t very fun for someone who noticed she hated traveling so much. This, however, did not prevent her from trying new things. In particular, she learned to play the violin, which allowed her to escape from others for a bit.

Caulifla tried many, many different tactics in order to escape from the many people who wanted her for some reason. And then, she remembered: the information on her folder mentioned wanting to fuel her with something special. Something that could not be found anywhere else in Altale. But, no one knew what it was. And, it bothered her for a while.

11TH AND LAST VISIT TO MAGNOLIA?

Desperate to escape the running she had to do for so long, Caulifla tried pretending to be someone completely different on her 11th visit in Magnolia in hopes not to be noticed. Unfortunately, while looking at a talent show, she was quickly noticed by its host, Mettaton, and was asked to perform in front of everyone. Despite her nervousness from potentially having to leave the city again, Caulifla was instead praised by everyone for her performance.

Shortly after, though, she attempted to escape from the crowd and from the man only to be found by him again on the next day while she was homeless. Caulifla was offered a home for the first time ever, and while she was completely unsure of Mettaton’s intentions, accepted the offer anyway…with the idea that she would destroy him if he were to use her in any way.

While Caulifla finally had a taste of how normal life is supposed to be, she did notice that Mettaton was often too busy to interact with her much, which caused her to leave Magnolia with the idea that she wasn’t safe…only for her to be kidnapped by someone.

FINDING OUT THE SOURCE OF HER MISERY...

It took a while before Mettaton came to her rescue. However, during the time she was kidnapped, Caulifla learned that the reason everyone kept chasing her was for what powered her: her core. Unlike every other androids’ core, hers was made from a magical gem, which made her stronger than usual. Its properties were studied, but not shared, hence people wanting it for their own purposes, even if it meant Caulifla’s death.

As she was slowly dismantled, the android found out she was back at the starting point. Caulifla could recognize the vial she had first seen when she was just made functional and the many folders about several different projects. But, she was found by Mettaton before it was too late, who had to fight his own father and managed to escape with her pieces.

It took weeks before she was back together. Realizing that not everyone was out there to take her life, Caulifla softened around Mettaton, who was the one who dedicated a lot of time, energy & effort just to rebuild her from the pieces he had managed to save. Seeing this, she accepted to not only be his musical partner, but also his romantic partner…even if she had no idea what that implied.

Despite this, though, some peculiar-looking people seem to take great interest in her, and now she knows why at least. It was for her core, one that she needed to live.
