Grand Master Melanie is the most recent addition to the group of Grand Masters and is currently their youngest member. Like Grand Master Sergio's Resonator Mandalynn, Melanie grew up on the streets, though instead of on Riterra she was raised on the streets of the Lunar city of Procellarum.

Despite living on the moon though, society was quite similar in a lot of ways to that on the planet below them. If you had money, you were at the top, and if you didn't you fought for the scraps. Melanie fought her way through her childhood and early teen years. She didn't always win every brawl, but as she grew people began regretting picking fights with her as even if she ended up beaten and bloody, she'd make sure her opponent would walk away questioning their life choices.

As a result of this rough upbringing, she's quick to anger and quicker to pick fights. It doesn't help matters that as a Grand Master she can get away with pretty much anything.

Seeing that first paycheck made her swoon though. She never had access to so much money in her life. Once again, to draw contrast with another of her rank - Mandalynn remained humble in her newfound life. Not Melanie: she is commonly seen spending money on whatever she wants at the time. Fancy clothes, expensive food, the best lodgings available. Nothing is out of her reach now and she will kill to keep her newfound wealth.

As a result, anything that threatens her position as a Grand Master is immediately dealt with. Her first battle as a Grand Master left the crowd speechless - she displayed more power than she ever displayed during her tournament run to get to her position. Reporters at the time commented that Melanie was a completely different person.

When she was crowned Grand Master she sighed and spoke these words when she was asked how she felt: "To be honest - I'm sick of fighting. I'm going to die fighting though. From the day I was born, on the streets fighting for my life, so I might as well do it at the top"

Unlike the other Grand Masters who are close with their main resonator, Melanie and Harley have a strictly work-based relationship. That doesn't mean they don't get along, but they're only as close as co-workers, making quips and jabs at each other as their battles get more intense. In fact, a common past-time for the two is to go to a bar and see how many women they can pick up, before going their separate ways to spend some "quality time" with their acquisitions. 

Misc Facts

• The tattoo on her leg is a branding mark she received on Luna as a criminal. 
  • Despite her status as a Grand Master if she ever stepped foot on Luna again, she'd be seen as less than a lower class citizen.
  • She's more than happy to tell the story about how she got that mark, going into detail about how many people it took to keep her down so they could brand her.
• Sera considered Melanie as a potential candidate as her maestro, however after finding out Melanie's origins, she quickly dismissed the idea.
