The youngest of the sea gods, he rules over the deep sea yet is fascinated by the color and life found in coral reefs.
Like the ocean, Merrill is everchanging. At one moment he may appear placid, joyful, and calm; the next a cold-hearted violent monster. Neither side is evil and both are equal parts of Merrill, helping him maintain the balance of nature. These two contrasting personalities can be categorized as 'positive' and 'negative'.
Postive | Merrill is always eager to learn new things about the world around him. Smiling constantly, he enjoys cracking jokes and playing small pranks (that often end badly). He loves playing around and causing a ruckus to the dismay of many, and there's never a quiet moment when he's around. Comparable to a young child, Merrill sees the world through a simple lens where there's no problems, and if there somehow are problems, they can easily be solved with a few quick solutions, which are sadly impracticable and unrealistic.
Negative | A more pessimistic side to Merrill. When things go drastically wrong, Merrill quickly makes a switch into a cold person with no emotions. It's in this mode that he'll cause natural disasters resulting in the deaths of thousands or even millions of human lives. (He does create storms while in 'positive', but they're necessary for life to be sustained and aren't dangerous). Usually, they're caused by sea life being treated wrong (Merrill loves his 'sea babies' and despises seeing them suffer unjustly), though occasionally, Merrill will just wake up negative.

friend
A close friend of Merrill's, they met when Merrill got lost in 'The Blank Domain', a place where most gods reside though none have any reign over the area. Although Saros was unfriendly, Merrill was attracted to him because of the stars that trailed behind him, shining brightly and reminding him of fish that reside in the deep sea. It took a bit of time, but after a few decades, Saros accepted Merrill as a friend. The two are almost always together, and Merrill makes the most of their time together, filling it with prank attempts and bothering/annoying Saros with games. After centuries together, the two have formed a deep bond, and neither one would ever abandon the other.
