Kitori

Anyone involved in a war has prayed to Sage Kitori for a swift victory or cursed his name as they lay dying in the field of battle. His existence is one of struggle, the continuation of life as a whole, the celebration of those who keep stepping forward, his back turned to those who fall behind and fade into dust.

First Appearance: Ragazza Volpe Magica

The outcast of the Seven Sages. He is the sage who oversees the concept of victory. The sage who enjoys war, contest, or sport. He cares not for the "losers" of life - those who are poor, crippled, or even those whose lives come to a close.

Feelings Towards Humanity

Kitori only likes one subset of humanity: those who are winning. Whether it's those with massive wealth, decorated generals, or famous athletes. He doesn't even acknowledge the existence of those who he considers "lesser" than those who have "won". One might think he would abhor those who would cheat or use underhanded methods to attain their goals, however it's quite the opposite. In his eyes, if someone must bend the rules of competition and win as a result, they simply wanted it more.

Relationships with the other Sages

Luca - Kitori is neutral towards Luca. Life is the direct result of a "victory", though he does take issue with Luca's personality. It is common for Kitori to chide and scold Luca for his upbeat and carefree attitude and feels Luca should take his job more seriously as the sage who presides over life and death.

Sahji - There is a point of conflict in Sahji's heart. Victory is one of the greatest desires one could have, however Sahji takes extreme issue with the blood on Kitori's hands. Kitori is a purveyor of war which directly harms the humans Sahji is so fond of. Someone wishing not to die is such a powerful desire, but a depressing one of the wish sage.

Seres - The one sage Kitori actually respects. In Kitori's mind, Time is the true victor of all, as no matter how powerful one is, eventually age will catch up, one way or another. Likewise, Seres doesn't have any strong feelings about Kitori for the same reason - Time always wins, and victories are meaningless in the face of that.

Lanvi - One of the most common conflicts is over land and the rights to the precious resources contained within. As such, Kitori likes Lanvi, but only in a superficial sense. Conversely, Lanvi is highly uncomfortable around Kitori because of all the blood she's seen soaked into the earth as a direct result of the wars the victory sage so enjoys.

Marovo - In a contest of Land versus sea, the sea always wins, and for that Kitori will typically side with Marovo over Lanvi should a discussion come down to that. As the oceans have claimed many a life, Kitori looks at the sea as a way to weed out the weak. Marovo simply ignores Kitori, as they don't have time for things as superficial like victories.

Cielto - The sky sage simply exists to Kitori. Neither of them have any particular feelings towards eachother and they both kind of ignore the other's presence. The last time they really spoke is when Kitori asked Cielto how they felt about humans achieve machine assisted flight.

How do they treat their muse:
Kitori is probably the most defensive of his muse out of all the sages. No one is his eyes is worthy enough to wield the power of the Victory Charge. Even he himself sees his own muse as a "cheat button" of sorts. He strongly believes there's no value in just automatically winning.

Victory Charge43984054_jf1.png

The muse of the infamous Victory Sage, Kitori. It is a mace shaped construct which guides the fate and destiny of the holder. That is to say anything the holder commits themselves to will just work, no matter how flawed it is in execution. Put another way, any plan or idea the user comes up with will always find away to succeed. It does so by altering the fates of those around them in such a way that the only conclusion is success. It's direct counterpart would be the muse of the Wish Sage, Sahji - the End of Desire; which directly counters fate and will work against it. It is said if someone were to get ahold of the Victory Charge, the only way to best them is to use the End of Desire.

The Triumph

Sage Kitori's day of celebration. In similar vein to Remembrance day, this day is about celebrating your victories over the course of the year. Businesses usually have big sales the week prior to try and claim one last "victory" before this day.
