You see Margo having a very animated conversation—doesn't matter where or with who. She's always getting heated about even superficial things, but you can at least admire her dedication. In fact, you've never met anyone with as much passion as her. You wonder where she gets it, and how she never runs out, but you'd also rather avoid sparking an endless conversation with her.
Now, don't freak out, but I'm gonna do something dangerous.
Appearance
soft features, fat—don't underestimate her strength
Personality
Margo can be described as aggressively sweet, always supportive of those around her with little patience for defeatist attitudes. Of course she understands how hard it can be sometimes—she's been there herself, after all—but she is a firm believer that even joking self-deprecation is no good for anyone. It's not necessary for everyone to give it all they've got all the time, but she wants to show others that it is possible to love yourself unconditionally, or at least feel neutral if it's difficult to get that far.
One way she exhibits this is with her high levels of enthusiasm for everything. Even small topics will get her talking loud and fast because she has a seemingly endless supply of love and passion to extend to all she comes in contact with. Many people find this kind of energy exhausting to be around, especially as she attempts to justify her preference toward one color over another for yet another time, forgetting she already went over this and determined to make sure her point is understood in the fullest.
She shows her joy and friendliness to everyone, but this does not exempt those she dislikes from her wrath. Just as she has passion for things she enjoys, so too does she have it for what she hates, and she's not afraid to show this. If she encounters a person who has done her wrong in some way—she has difficulty letting go of a grudge—she will still appear affable enough, but won't shy from asserting her displeasure with a strained smile on her face. These moments can often come across as veiled threats, which she wouldn't necessarily consider a bad thing.
She is more than willing to stand up for what she feels is right, even if that means putting herself in danger. She has a strong sense of justice and strong muscles to back her up if need be. Anyone who crosses the line is automatically up for scrutiny to her. This can sometimes lead her to black and white thinking and rash actions in the case of matters more superficial, especially if the person in question takes up a haughty attitude.
This rashness applies to all facets of her life, as she is rebellious and adventurous by nature. She loves to do her own thing and explore, undeterred by legality or sanitation or ghost stories. Her independence is important to her, and anything attempting to hold her back will be met with disdain. Even if she gets in trouble, she will always defend her actions, believing there is no use for regret.

History
Margo couldn't be happier with her childhood, despite the rough spots here and there. Her parents tried their best to support her, allowing her to express herself how she wanted and learning what they could about being transgender once she came out to them in her teens. They also tried to save up for her college fund, but they didn't make a lot of money as it was and health problems just kept coming up. In the end Margo decided not to go to college as she knew the loans would be too much—which was just fine for her, as she didn't know what she wanted to do, anyway.
She spent a lot of time taking whatever odd jobs she could, eventually landing herself at the port where she's been for a couple years now. It's certainly not the most glamorous job out there, but she enjoys it for what it is. Though it can be exhausting, she welcomes the heavy lifting.
A few years ago, she went to an LGBT support group she had found because she was looking for more friends. It was a small gathering that didn't last more than a couple sessions, and the only other trans person there was Quentin Hewitt, but that was enough of a start for her. Quentin quickly became her best friend despite their rather different personalities, both of them there to support the other. She is actively looking for a way to get Quentin out of his current living situation, but there isn't much she can do on her own; she already has a roommate in a small apartment, and what money she does make is already being put aside to help her parents.
