Apolinary

The Flood is a vast ocean that has drowned out most of what was previously here. There are still the remains of cities and mountains poking above the water, and new settlements have been formed around these. The sun has become a large source of power, and special plants are beginning to be used in place of standard electronics.

Apolinary lived before the Flood, though he couldn't say how long before. He doesn't remember many specifics about his life or what happened to him. He feels as though no time had passed when he is revived by Pictoris, who used some of their Pith energy to jump start the plants in Apolinary's system.

It takes him a great while to get used to things—both the changes to his once-certain robotics as well as to the world—but he is eager to find a place for himself.

Pictoris

• The first person Apolinary had seen in a very long time. It was a little awkward, following him around as he explained how everything had changed, but the two are very close friends now, frequently bonding over mutual feelings of loneliness and uncertainty with regard to their places in the world.
• Pictoris has a bit of a one-sided crush that he tries to keep secret, but after it's revealed Apolinary realizes that oh maybe he feels the same way actually lol
