About Kooga

Kooga is, as a storyteller such as myself would call him, a game-breaking bug. He’s the anomaly that shouldn’t exist; yet he does, and that very existence is a threat to the integrity of the world.

With powers of Life, Death, and Necromancy at his hands, Kooga is a volatile child – and a child he is at the core, grown in body, but not in mind, thanks to a mother who didn’t want to waste time raising him.

Yet, between the hatred of her soul and the rage of the Denumbra within him, Kooga grew to yearn but for one thing: to be loved.

One day, he will find a semblance of care in the most unexpected of hearts: a dead one. Aware that his new caretaker has ulterior motives, Kooga chooses to ignore what she won’t say: that she is leading him towards true death.

After all, what does death matter? Isn’t it a far more peaceful way to live – a better way to live, free of hatred and rage and suffering?

But does he really understand what lies in wait beyond death?

Not a day went by that Kooga didn't feel attacked, if only by the violence in her soul. Yet, he never wanted her to die - especially not by his indirect hand.

Trivia

• Kooga was created in the early-ish 2000's for an online roleplay. Like for a few other characters, when the roleplay ended, I transferred him to the world that would become Aeyuu.
• What didn't change is his mother, nor the suffering she inflicted on him. What did change was the suffering he caused, for I was in a terrible state of mind at the time. I wouldn't say he's a cinnamon roll, but he's also not the monster that lives inside him.
• Surprisingly, though the Denumbra within him must be labeled a monster, it is also a creature of great protection, utterly loyal to its current vessel. The fact the Denumbra has lived in Kooga since he was born created an attachment that makes him as close to an original Denumbra as can be.
• I did originally have him being born by eating through her belly like an Alien. Terrible state of mind, what can I say.
• So much I could still say, so I'll say last: beware this boy if Life was just drained out of him. He remains, after all, the son of a Necromancer, herself born of a long line.
