His egg had been abandoned after a blizzard forced his clan to escape out of the mountains. It wasn’t much long after that when a rescue team, Team Brat, was sent out to look for any survivors. One of their members, Skittles, found his egg & the three of them took the egg back down to Meadow Town, to their rescue team base. 

Soon after, his egg hatched & the first pokemon he laid eyes on was Delilah, the Delcatty guild master of the rescue teams. She took him in to raise as her own, teaching him in the ways of exploration & rescuing. He can’t talk very well, but he does communicate in other… unorthodox ways, such as banging his large scale on different hard surfaces, making different baby sounds, & other forms of body language (his favorite way of communication is engaging in impromptu staring contests).
