Manoa Lai or "Lai" for short, is a sea lion, a rare yet very playful race of Mobians. Sea lions predominantly live under the ocean's surface, but can use their flippers as feet to walk on land. They are also extremely quick and agile in the water much quicker that many aquatic species. Their speed is only matched by dolphins and sharks respectively.
Lai is a fully matured seal, and has chosen to leave her pod of sea lions so that she could live independently. She has a very playful and caring disposition, and will often go out of her way to help those in need. She will often stop to enjoy conversations with people she comes across on the beach.
Lai is particularly fond coral reefs and sunken ships, and tends to spend most her time under the water exploring these types of locations. Overall, Monoa Lai lives a a relatively peaceful life, spending her days chatting and swimming about the ocean floor.
Occasionally, she will venture on land for a couple days or weeks at a time, but rest assured, she will find her way back to the water fairly quickly.
Monoa Lai met Shreya when they were young teenagers, and the to have maintained a distant friendship.
The two met when Shreya was 12, and she came to the beach to collect sea shells, Shreya came to the surface to greet her. The two became fast friends.
Although they rarely get to spend time together, occasionally Shreya still comes to the beach to see her old friend.
During one of her ventures into a busy city Manoa Lai met Duo the jackal by pure chance.
After some conversation, two started a professional- turned personal relationship, with Manoa Lai acting as Duo's informant.
Lai is more than happy to venture onto land from time to time to meet and chat with Duo, likewise Duo is happy to meet Lai by the seaside.
